Any sign of a FAC tour this autumn/winter?  Did I miss it during my sojourn?

I thought Fairport Acoustic usually deliver a tour around October time? Am I confused? Is this a dagger that I see before me? Shocked Roll Eyes Grin

Ah, but they're all going to Russia this year GF...  And there's no sign of an Acoustic tour on the website either, and I'd expect stuff in October to be there by now.  I kinda thought there was a late autumn/early winter-time opportunity to catch the Chaps too, that's why I asked.

Probably means we'll have to wait until February.  Cry

Ah yes, I forgot about the Russian tour. Roll Eyes Don't think I can make Moscow.

March in my case, as I am planning on going to the gig at Birmingham Town Hall.  Cool

It might be an hallucination but I hope it will become a reality.  The Russian tour is only a few days in September anyway - plenty of time to fit in a short acoustic tour before various members become involved in Christmassy things.  They'll get bored otherwise! Wink

They might have other things to do.... like maybe record a new album?

That would give them two albums to sell on the winter tour - didn't the Cropredy programme say something about Off The Desk 2?

There's a possibility of a new album by about Cropredy time. If you look at the mommentum of album releases, there is a new album after 3 years, and then another after 2 years. Over The Next Hill was in 2004, Sense Of Occasion was in 2007, alas new album next year maybe?

yes, and if I remember correctly it is said to be an accoustic one.
Really looking forward to it.

Yes - haven't seen them yet, who're the players?  They're on at Hitchin the week after Aggies, might have to make it a personal record - 2 consecutive week!

Better get onto Hitchin's website & reserve myself a seat!

Ashley Hutchings, Simon Nicol, Simon Care and Kellie While.  I've only seen them twice but a great show both times - a kind of folk version of nine lessons and carols with laughs! Grin

Sounds fantastic Katy's mum - I've just sent the good folks at Hitchin an email asking for tickets to both these gigs.  Hope they're not sold out already!

Feeling less depressed already! Smiley

Although I think I remember something about Simon not being involved in the Albion stuff any more - or was that something else entirely?

Which Simon? - Nicol or Care.   Which band? - Albion Band or Albion Christmas Band.

Both Simons were in the Albion Christmas Band last year.  I'm not sure if the Albion Band are performing at the moment.

Mea culpa.  (but it's "my" thread...)

KM - SN, but it doesn't matter, it'll be a good show anyway.

End of thread I think really, we've established that there probably isn't going to be an FAC tour this autumn...
