Isn't it good-Norwegian Wood!
This was mentioned in the wintour 2008 programme, but I've not heard of anything since.

I don't know about Chris Leslie's Hardanger Fiddle, but I have fond memories of Richard Brecknock, fiddle player with Trotto regularly playing a Hardanger Fiddle at live gigs in the 70's. He also sometimes played a Rebec.
I think only one track using the Hardanger was ever recorded. It's on the "Trotto" album originally released in 1973 and never released on CD.

Swarb used an 8-string violin on Rags, reels and Airs, but I'm not sure whether it was a hardanger fiddle or not, as they have sympathetic strings.

If you're looking for a good hardanger fiddle experience, look for Annebjorg Lien, a norse (hardanger) fiddler part of String Sister project

I just thought it was an interesting concept, because Chris said he was building his own.

There was a programme on Radio 4 recently about a keyboard builder (spinets, harpsicords etc) living in Oxfordshire, who commented that it was a rather lonely occupation, but that there was a local community of instrument builders who tended to swap technologies and so forth, including "Chris Leslie, who makes fiddles, or did, who lives just down the road".

Wonderful man, Chris - in any sense and direction - anybody knows.
