Oh sorry! Gets coat..... Nah, they only posted a snippet, not the whole thing. Still nice to confirm your importance in potentially destroying the world, eh?

I hadn't seen it before - that's superb. Of course we always thought Fairport were the centre of the universe!
Armando Iannuci was amusing on this, predicting that it'll either 1) create a black hole and destroy the world or 2) be a bit boring

Simon, dear twin, just to denote your seniority, the Manchester Guardian was renamed the Guardian in 1959....

I always knew that Fairport have been around a long time (after all I've been a fan for 38 years). However , I wasn't aware until now that Fairport had been in at the creation of the universe.

I like the Cheese Quandrex. They are, I presume, comparing Fairport Convention to the God Particle itself.

So, if Fairport Convention are the little blue-ish ring, who or what is represented by the central core? The Guv'nor?
And will the CERN experiment finally tell us where indeed the time goes?

It's all PDC (Pretty Damn Cosmic), as Ric might say. LHC = Lovely Holey Cr*cs. If the experiment were being conducted at Cerne, not CERN, I would imagine that LHC could well mean something totally different - I shall leave it to people's imaginations/dirty minds.

This is brill! Thanks Simon for putting the link up.
Picked up Grauniad from mat, read the G2 article, and NEVER NOTICED FC ON THE DIAGRAM!
Why has my LFCRD (Lightning Fairport Convention Reference Detector) failed me? First time in 41 years. It even detected Karl Dallas' FC review in Private Eye's Pseuds Corner around 1970. Time for a new flux capacitor Scotty.

Simon, dear twin, just to denote your seniority, the Manchester Guardian was renamed the Guardian in 1959.... Sir John Betjeman always said 'Manchester Guardian' to annoy them as he was dismissed as 'arbitrary and irrelevant' by the paper. Simon is probably just showing his support for Sir John - who would of course have been a great fan of 'Tiny Tin Lady'.
