Went for £67.00.....

There's obviously a market for digital versions of these....I'm sure Fairport could shift a few thousand of a box set of the Cropredy recordings....

I was outbid at the very end.  Angry

I want Fairport to have the last laugh and re-issue these things, so I can give royalty payments to them.

The odd thing about these sets is that they were put out by Fairport in the first place and beautifully packaged with copious sleeve notes but they have obviously chosen not to licence this material to Talking Elephant who have the rest of the Woodworm back catalogue (though I think Cropredy 98 is currently unavailable too). There must be a reason for this. I wonder what it is.

I would love more from the vaults from FC. They are probably more excited about what they are are doing presently. But I would love more video and audio releases from the vaults.

If nothing else, I think they're missing a potentially very useful commercial money stream.  But I'm no businessman, and may be talking nonsense.  It wouldn't be the first time....!

Err.. As with almost all artists, the ownership of the recordings is somewhat distributed  Undecided

Yep - that's true, but the actual official recordings themselves aren't that distributed, as far as I can see anyway.  Everything else seems to be, mind!  My own feeling is that there's a decent box set in these (and a few other) recordings.  Cropredy Capers just never did it for me, I'm afraid.  Like, sadly, all of those Free Reed box sets, with the possible exception of the Sandy one, but that's another topic I guess.

[Edit: Actually, I've just had it pointed out to me some of the very good reasons why these might not get released again officially, and they were things I hadn't actually thought of, but which make perfect sense.  Suffice to say, in a perfect world I still think it's a lovely idea.  In the inperfect one in which we live, it's still a nice idea!]

Yeah, like all those Cropredy videos from the early 80s, which I still haven't seen!

The Sandy box wasn't Free Reed.  Actually I really like Cropredy Capers, but most of the Free Reed boxes are flawed usually because of difficulty and expenses accessing officially released material.  Most of the boxes tend to be more akin to official boots, with all the shades of quality that implies.
