There are too many great poeople going. And at 49? This is very sad. I never got to meet him, but I know he was a great man. RIP Rob

I'm very sorry to hear the news, and I send my thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. I know he was a big part of Fairport.

This is very bad news, one can only echo what others have said.
I was standing near to Rob when Fairport were onstage at an outdoor gig some years ago. The sound kept going totally but he was totally unfazed - he just uttered a silent curse, ambled down to the stage, up the steps, whacked the offending cable, and ambled back again. He must have done this four or five times. I thought at the time "Wish I was like that!"
RIP Rob, you were a canny lad.

Sad news indeed. Like many I didn't know Rob but when SoN and I were lucky enough to be guests backstage at the Birmingham end-of-tour gig a few years ago Rob was warm and welcoming when SoN and I were just doing our best not to get in the way.
Sincere condolences to Rob's family from SoN and myself.

Maybe another brass plaque on an oak tree in The Field?

This is so sad - another good guy gone. I only spoke to Rob once or twice & he came across as a really decent bloke. RIP Rob, and my thought are with your family & friends.

This is a complete shock. I was astounded to read the news this morning. God bless you Rob, condolences to the Braviner family and to the extended Fairport clan.
Malcolm, I think you raised a brilliant idea in placing a nother plaque on the tree.

Our sincere condolences go out to his family. That 'Meet on the Ledge' is getting so much harder to sing these days but we will be thinking of you 'Brav' the next time we sing it, and more so in that field in Oxfordshire on a Saturday night in August just before midnight .....

Very shocked; I didn't know how ill he was. The only time I spoke to him was at the sound desk of a gig in Southend - he was so easy to talk to, and seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say (even though it wasn't very interesting).
My thoughts are with his family.
