I left the stereo autoharp behind when I left Fairport, and it was obviously played by Richard and Simon when they thought it would fit. I believe it was destroyed in the crash..  |

The sleeve notes of Solid Air say: "Mandolin, Autoharp and Violin on Over the Hill - Richard Thompson, Simon Nicol and Sue Draheim respectively" Therefore, Simon played autoharp on Over the Hill and nothing else. Peggy on the other hand shared bass duties with Danny T throughout  So, Jude, it must be at least an outside chance that Simon was using your autoharp on Over the Hill - I think we should be told, Simon  |

Not destroyed, just a bit battered and bent (not unlike your correspondent.) It still was playable in the main and I wish I could remember enough about the sessions to recall what happened so I could clear it up. I can't find my copy of the album. If someone wants to send me an Mp3 of the track it might bring something back... |
