Well I don't want raise anyone's hopes unduly but I have been told that a CD sized package has arrived this morning  Shocked. I am thus quietly hopeful that I will be able to have a listen whilst cooking supper this evening for our Cropredy planning meeting. Expect a further bulletin around 6ish.

Oh thank goodness!

Anyway just to prove that I have it here is photographic proof courtesy of daughter #2's new camera of me clutching the CD before I disrobed from biking attire. I am  so glad I made the effort to get this - it is lovely. Two listens so far whilst cooking and dining and planning for Cropredy, and many more to come. Love the "King Crimson" moment segment which pops up as a bit of surprise! Also had to look out my ELP albums to remind us where C'est la Vie came from.

Next job is to order tickets for the 100 Club.

Sorry to do this, but I am just so pleased by these three reviews

By the time I get to Cropredy, I shall have a head the size of a football and an overinflated ego to match and may well possibly turn into a diva ('peel me a grape, Beulah..' Mae West in some film or another Grin)

Oh goody! I'll sign it as well if you like, (while wearing my 20 gallon stetson which will, by then, be the only hat that will fit my enormously swollen head.)   Grin

Great reviews. While reading the netrhythms one, I suddenly realized why the "strength of strings" line triggered a nagging voice in the back of my mind while listening to Harpsong ... Strength of Strings is, of course, the title of a great song by Gene Clark (lyrics here ) and it appeared on the wonderful No Other album.

So now I wonder, was it a deliberate reference? Or were both you and Gene inspired by the same reference, literary or otherwise, of which I am unaware?  Smiley

No Bob, in my case it was a reference back to a line in Dylan's 'Lay Down Your Weary Tune' a song I used to sing with early Fairport ('and rest yourself 'neath the strength of strings') can't remember who I first heard singing it though! and the strength of the autoharp strings, both in fact and in sound..

I don't usually delve too deeply in to the whys and wherefores of lyrics though Cheesy

D'oh!! Of course! Being one of the Dylan songs that the Byrds covered, it was probably the inspiration for Gene's song as well ... unfortunately it's way too late to ask him  Cry

Thanks - I'll be in the very long queue. Smiley

The stetson will be way too big for you but it should make a good sun shade ...
