Just got information from PK Musik, advertising Fairport Convention @ Brew House, Gothenburgh, October 1st. I'll be queuing up to get the first tickets when they go on sale tomorrow morning

I went from Oslo to Gothenburg last saturday to see the semi-reunited Gentle Giant billed as Three Friends. Enjoyed every second there. Bathed in sunshine as it was, Gothenburg is a wonderful place to get drunk and listen to good music. It was also one of the best concerts I ever went to. Enjoy the evening, Staffan.

Thanks! You bet I will! Grin

I won´t be seeing you there, then?

Well, I bet FC probably will be going to or from Gothenburgh via Norway, so you´ll probably see them closer to home!  Cool

Well, if they come near Oslo I'll probably see them there. But if not, I might actually take the trip to Gothenburg. It takes less than four hours by bus and there's a good night service back home. If I go I'll be in touch so we can meet up for a pint or two.    Smiley

The Scandinavian Tour is now up on the  homepage:

http://www.fairportconvention.com/gigs.php

Happy for you that they come to Oslo.

11 gigs in Scandinavia, that´s great for us Scandinavian fans.
Let´s spread the word and bring all our friends to the gigs!

This will be Fairport's first gig at the Rockefeller hall in Oslo. It's bigger than the other places they've played here in recent years. But last year they filled the Parkteatret which holds about 400-500 so why not. And yes - I've already started spreading the word.

Having attended the wonderful "All Star" Barbican event this summer, I'll have to adjust to the current line-up again. But the last couple of gigs here have been great, so I'm sure this one will, too.

But rest assured, Staffan: One of these days I'll be back in Göteborg. And mine's a pint of Avestad...  :-)

I´d better start looking for Avestad then, when out about town for a pint!   Grin

Out of interest, was this the Schulman brothers?  All of them or perhaps Ray and Derek with Kerry Minnear?

This is what wiki says:

    *  Gary Green (guitar, vocals)
    * Malcolm Mortimore (drums)
    * Kerry Minnear (keyboards)

plus:

    * Roger Carey (bass and vocals, from Liane Carroll's band)
    * John Donaldson (piano and keyboards)
    * Andy Williams (guitar, collaborator with Carey in the Engine Clutch And Gearbox trio)
    * Mick Wilson (vocals, from 10cc)

Yep!
But I have to admit that your Olde English spelling, from around the York area and dating from Norse times I guess, looks and, above all, sounds much better!  Cool

Looked for you.
Saw several with your grey hairstyle and Lennonesque glasses, but everyone I asked denied the Sir Martin tag.
Sorry

 Cry   Bloody hell!   I wish I'd read this thread before I made my travel arrangements this week!   I was in Gothenburg (1st visit, looked nice) from Tuesday to Thursday - if I'd known about the gig on Thursday evening I would have stayed over.   Bugger It!
