Did the soundtrack for The Marksman ever get a CD release? Or, failing that, has anyone out there ever converted their LP to CD?

No CD, but it was released on cassette. The other BBC soundtrack that RT was involved in (minor role, more interesting for fans of Christine Collister) "The Life and Loves of a She-Devil", wasn't released on CD either. To complete (?) the RT soundtrack work: "Sweet Talker" and "Grizzly Man" were released on CD "Slam Dance" soundtrack by Mitchell Froom, one track by RT "A Prayer for Ms. Velveteen" - no CD Then there is "Welcome Home, Mr. Lewis", an instrumental written and performed by RT with T-Bone Burnett "for Ricardo Franco's film "In And Out"". Originally released on the EP "Behind The Trap Door" and now available on the 2CD "Proof Through The Night & The Complete Trap Door" But I believe I'm now far removed from what you asked

You're never complete until you are complete. I now remember that RT also scored music for the "follow up" to "Grizzly Man". A series for Animal Plannet called "The Grizzly Man Diaries". Never seen or heard by me. He also did the music for the film "Dreams With Sharp Teeth" about the writer Harlan Ellison. Out on DVD now, but likewise not seen yet.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like a vinyl copy followed by a CD transfer for me then. A mate of mine keeps swearing he can help me do transfers, so I'll have to badger him anew if I find a copy.
Thanks again.

While I continue my quest - can anyone (Oldeu?) tell me how many otherwise unavailable RT songs are on The Marksman s'track? It'll dictate how much I knock myself out over this. Thanks.

Tremendous - I'm a huge Harlan Ellison fan, I need to track this down now!

Cheers Paul - do I take it that the ones that don't list a singer are instrumentals rather than songs then?

I've just tracked a couple of copies down on Music Stack (and promptly bought one of them ). I'd never heard of this until today. I imagine it will be a bit like RT and PFs collaboration on the Sweet Talker soundtrack. I am now considering the Life & Loves Of A She Devil soundtrack but I can't find a track listing anywhere and am wondering if there is anything on there worth having apart from the sublime Warm Love Gone Cold. From waht I remember of the series, most of the incidental music was cheesy sub BBC Radiophonic Workshop, synthy bits. Or am I completely misremembering this?

Not much on Christine's website, AFAIK, but I can add this: "The Life And Loves Of A She-Devil" BBC Enterprises, REB 615 side 1 Warm Love Gone Cold (P Filleul) Cavatina (from Act II of The Marriage Of Figaro) (Mozart) Some Enchanted Evening (Rodgers & Hammerstein) Revenge (P Filleul) All Because Of You (C Gregson) Warm Love Variations (P Filleul) Commercial Break - Vista Rose (P Filleul) side 2 It's All Just Talk (C Gregson) For Lucille (P Filleul) Eden Grove (P Filleul) Devil Groove (P Filleul) Cavatina (from Act II of The Marriage Of Figaro) (Mozart) Ways To Say Goodbye (P Filleul)
Those Gregson songs are sung by Christine as well If you only want to have "Warm Love Gone Cold" you might consider to look out for the single, released both as 7" and 12", regularly to be found on *bay
I think that the best way to hear it though is in tandem with "You Don't Say" live with the Richard Thompson Band in 1985/86
