I finally got a copy of this 1975 TV broadcast with time code. Sandy is listed in the credits with the other current FC members, but the song that was used for the FC Box set of Simon's Breakfast in Mayfair was not on this broadcast. Was it cut? Does anyone know? Thanks Mark

The copy in the BBC archives is of the (slightly edited) "2nd House" repeat broadcast from a month or so after the original transmission. Unfortunately, the Beeb in their wisdom chopped out Breakfat In Mayfair (Sandy's only contribution); thus, missing presumed wiped. Great, huh?

I recall there were certainly plans to release the video around that time, but it never happened. So to have any copy at all is a rare and wonderful thing. The Sandy / Simon version of Breakfast is on the most recent reissue of the Babbacombe Lee CD.

Had another listen to this - it is Simon singing, which leads me to a curious point; was he still in Fairport at this time, or was he guesting with the Fotheringport Confusion lineup? Or was it a still the post Full House with Sandy as their guest?
I haven't seen this show, but it sounds pretty special either way...

That article says that fans use the term to decribe the late 70s lineup, but they surely mean the mid 70s lineup? Jules

The line up for the Babbacombe Lee TV Show was the 1974-75 line up but with Simon Nicol instead of Trevor Lucas.
The mention of Linda joking about Fotheringport Confusion probably comes from a 1982 concert of her introducing I'll Keep it With Mine onstage - "This is an old Fotheringport Confusion song".

The first time I saw RT outside of Cropredy was solo at the Festival Hall in the late 80's. He played an FC song having intro'ed it as from his Fotheringport Confusion days.
