I've just been told that Cropredy has been nominated in the Festival Awards again this year Grin

I'll cut and paste the info below if anyone would like to vote for them

Cropredy has been nominated in three categories for this year's
Festival Awards...

Best Medium Sized Festival
Family Festival Award
Best Toilets

all votes are important! and voters will have the opportunity to win
two VIP  tickets to each of the  winning festivals

Here's the link to the voting page for FC

http://www.festivalawards.com/index.cfm?section=awards.nominees&method=view&year=2009&eventid=1799

Voting is open til 14 October to draw up a shortlist - voters are then
asked to vote a second time for the faves.

The second voting round finishes on 4 November and the winners will be
announced  at the awards ceremony at IndigO2 on 16 November

For more information about the awards and ticket details on the
Festival Awards show and Conference go to:

I'll definitely vote for two of those awards.  The third category would be undeserving this year I reckon.  The toilets in the Family field at least were left to their own devices from Saturday am which, given how good they normally are, was a bit of a surprise.

Happy to vote for the first two, mind.  Well deserved nominations.

IN that third award, I think it's naughty to nominate the Big Session & Summer Sundae festivals - the loos are all inside the De Montfort Hall - not the usual portaloos!

Last time I went to either there were plastic toilets outside too.

What makes you say that David i was on that field and I saw them being emptied on Saturday PM. They were ok.

They may have actually been emptied, but nothing else was done to them.  The soap was empty from Friday.  There were no towels after Friday either.  And the bins weren't emptied on Saturday either.  All had been done very regularly on the Thursday and the Friday.  No cleaning was done in the cubicles either (I could prove this but I'd have to humiliate myself in the process so won't!) and to be frank they were a bit of a mess for the last 24 hours.  This is the Gents I'm talking about...didn't go into the Ladies so can't comment on them.

Its not a big deal, and its only because of the difference from the usual standard of Cropredy toileting that I mention it.  As a result I won't be voting for them in that category.  But I have voted for them in the other two....  Smiley

There were, behind the bar area and next to the campervan 'field' (or at least I hope there were otherwise I made a big mistake during the night Embarrassed).

They were definitely there ad in constant use. I was a little disappointed to find that there was no hand cleaning gel or water. It was at the height of the swine flu outbreak at the time but that is the only criticism I would make of the whole festival.

The ones behind the bar also served the campervan 'field' which is the car park adjoining the site. These toilets were therefore in use 24 hours a day and stayed clean throughout.

There was an ample supply of perfectly maintained portaloos in close proximity to the bar at the Big Session, a most sensible position to place them too to my reckoning, excellent planning.

It's a shame that RT isn't in the running for the Best Headliner.

And surely Meet On The Ledge should win the Anthem of the Summer every year.
Or am I just biased ?
