Hi Jenny, again apologies for taking so long to reply. I'm just getting ready to go to Austria now so I'll be brief. I used to see Martin playing at the folk clubs around coventry when I was 16 , but didn't get to meet him until a year or so later, when I started playing guitar with Dave Cooper. We decided we needed a multi instrumentalist to get our band started, Dando Shaft, and Mart was then playing, mandolin, flute, violin and guitar. So we paid him a visit, started playing and carried on for a few years.
I met Swarb via an invitation to go to his house for a 'blow', a jam session. He wanted to start an acoustic band, and I was reccomended for the position by Mart, thanks Mart. We played one number together and swarb looked at me and said,'yes I think we can swing' and that was the start of Whippersnapper.
I knew of Chris Leslie, but at that point hadn't met him. Swarb said that the was the fourth member he wanted, so eventually I got to meet him and play some music as the band.
Sorry to be so matter of fact about that. It was a great meeting when we got together, and I loved the music we made and still do,
thanks for your questions Jenny,
take care and i hope to see you and Gareth soon
