Thanks a lot. It's been great sharing them with all you Fairport friends. I think it's nice that they are no longer hidden away in a cupboard in the cellar. But now it's almost over. I have a few slides from Cropredy 1987, after that I didn't see Fairport as often. My son was born in April 1988 and from then on it was family life that mattered. I didn't have many opportunities to see Fairport "on my home turf" but from 2003 I - and now also the family -enjoy a Fairport gig now and then. In that respect it was fantastic to have the whole family with me on the 2007 Cropredy Saturday, 20 years since the last Cropredy festival! But I hope this thread has inspired others to bring out their old photos and share them with us! Staffan

Amount of - definitely Length of - in my case, when looking at photos of me, you can almost date the year by the length of my hair over the years. The change when you go from really long hair to short is so quick and drastic that it takes some time to recognize the person when you see him/her again.

Regarding the photos of Cropredy '87, did Swarb and RT appear together on stage? I used to have a video of Cropredy '87 that I taped off the telly (image that, Fairport on TV!) which showed RT solo, and playing a Sailor's Life with June Tabor and Ric on violin, and Swarb playing Rosie and Fiddlestix, but nothing from the Full House line-up, which seemed a bit odd given that all the line-up were present.
I think a few of the same performaces were used on the 'It All Comes Round Again' video (I'd love to have that on dvd!)

These are all fantastic, thanks!
staFCarin, what make of scanner is it? I keep looking for a secondhand Nikon Coolscan on eBay but they all seem to go for far too much money!
Bit of general advice for people using these devices to scan slides - it is UNBELIEVABLE what rubbish slides collect over the years. Give them a clean (go easy) with a SOFT lens brush before scanning. I find those little vacuum cleaners are useless. Try to do clean the slide from underneath so that the dust and crud doesn't go straight back onto it. Also you don't want all the muck getting on the scanner.
I didn't clean some 40 yr old slides and the scans were covered in what looked like a black snowstorm when I viewed them on a big monitor. It's much easier to clean slides than to retouch them afterwards.
Incidentally, if anybody uses dust removal software when scanning, it doesn't always work with Kodachrome. It's something to do with the dyes and refractive index - any process E-6 films like Fuji, Ektachrome etc should work OK. The annoying thing is that Kodachrome retains its colours best of all over the years. If you used Agfachrome - errr, hard luck!

This probably isn't the right place to ask this, but still...does anyone know if Peggy has a brother who had a pub somewhere in the SW in the 80's? I remember going in to a pub somewhere on the way back from Glasto (to Hampshire) in (I think) '85 and seeing the place plastered with Fairport memorabilia. That was a Wadworths pub as well....and I seem to remember there being a Pegg on the licensee plate over the door. However, I might well have imagined the whole thing.... Didn't Peggy's brother John run a pub down there?.....

On the box, it says CMP-FILMSCAN10 and there´s a homepage: www.konigelectronic.infoIt was a Christmas present from my wife , that´s why I haven´t asked too many questions about it, but it was bought from a very reliable Swedish internet shop: www.netonnet.seGood luck. By the way, I was too lazy, and excited about my new means of getting hold of old photos, to clean the old slides, so they are just put into the USB Film and Slides Scanner directly from the slides boxes!

That's a KÖNIG, which I don't think is available over here. I've had good results with an Epson Perfection scanner before now.

They are available from here http://www.jmbav.co.uk/department/scanners/. May treat myself to a late Christmas present or a very early birthday present. I started to scan in all my slides about 10 years ago with an attachment for an ordinary scanner but it went almost straight into the bin as it was so slowwwwwww. This looks a lot better. I have over 30 years worth of slides (or 3 suitcase fulls) to deal with so it will take time even with this!
