Whilst  clearing out the loft I have come across some old slides and negatives and am currently attempting to transfer these to the computer
They included some from the National Jazz Blues and Folk Festival at Plumpton in 1970
I hope this one is of interest

Lovely!
I was there, too , with my fiancée. It was a blazingly hot day if I remember correctly. Swedish group "Made in Sweden" started off the Saturday program at noon and Fotheringay came on as the third act one and a half hour later. Unfortunatelt we sat rather far from the stage so we didn't see them all too well, so this photo is appreciated. I don't remember if I have the recording but Peter maybe can offer the setlist!?  Cool
Thanks for sharing.

I have more photos of other acts but it may take me a while to process them - I will try and post more after Cropredy

As far as the set list went from memory I suspect it was similar to 'Live in Essen' - they certainly included 'John the Gun' as I had a recording on a cassette which was worn out way before Sandy released her version of the song.

Many thanks, Peter!

The covers bring back one or two memories but also confirms what I always have been uncertain about: that two of my favourite Fotheringay songs were played at Plumpton, "The Way I Feel" and "John The Gun".

Mind you, that cover photo wasn't taken at Plumpton 1970 - it was Lincoln 1971, with the "Happy Blunderers". Thanks to Peter T's photo we now have confirmation of that - look at how Sandy is dressed.

I thought the photo of Sandy at the grand piano might be taken at the famous Rotterdam gig.

I can assure you that the crowd in the field in front of the stage at Plumpton was much, much smaller, in fact sparse when Fotheringay played at 1:30 in the hot sun..... Cool

I have a photo from Lincoln 1971 but I don't think it will ever be possible to clean it up enough to be viewable but I will do my best

Interesting...my copy of that show doesn't include Ned Kelly.

I wasn't sure where to post this but it is Fairport-related. It came up on my Facebook feed from a Nick Drake page  and was taken in 1970 at the Witchseason office. I wonder if Nick was amused by RT's sleeve notes on the back cover.
