Mr Crumb is a Very Odd Bloke. One of the first x-rated films I ever went to see was "Fritz The Cat" - which is a cartoon. I had a book of his that my Mum would occasionally pick up and try to read to the kids, mistaking a cartoon book for a children's book. She soon put it down though, poor dear. |

Have y'all seen this one yet? Its a totally legitimate, illustrated rendition of the entire Book of Genesis (KJV). Its brilliant! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! When you think about it, Crumb is the perfect choice to render much of the paranoia and perversion inherent in the first book of the Bible. Last Sunday, I was sitting in the church office, when Juiian, this 97 year old presbyter, plopped the book on the desk, raving about it! Never thought I'd see the day where R. Crumb material was making the rounds at the First Presbyterian Church! It was like being 14 years old again, watching my drunk parents and their friends dancing to my T-Rex records! Digging around last night to find my copy of Bob Weir's Ace to put on my Ipod, I discovered a copy of Aoxomoxoa that I didn't know I even had!  That means that I already owned about a quarter of the contents of The Golden Road before I bought it. I also have nearly half of the Beyond Description box which I was considering buying. Bizarrely the Amazon price for it jumped up by £20 yesterday so I am now thinking of investigating individual albums. So what, other than From The Mars Hotel, In The Dark and Without A Net, what from the official releases between 1973 & 1990 is worth a listen? |

I watched that on DVD on Monday. Very good. I only wish it had been longer and covered the albums in between in more detail. Jules |

The weird thing was that the price changed between yesterday morning and yesterday afternoon. Last week it was as cheap as £68. Now it is up to £93! |
