You could at least sound a little excited, Jules!

Actually I felt a little disappointed that I couldn't see more detail!

Thanks for setting my mind at ease though.  And you're still welcome to come for a listening party....

A (tiny!) video of FotD from the Bobby, Jackie and Chris set mentioned elsewhere...

That sounds great David.

Whilst this link is not entirely Dead related, it does looks interesting.  I like some of Neal Casal's solo stuff, and of course with Ryan Adams.

Casal must be one of the most underrated guys around...superb guitarist.

Just heard from a couple of mates that their cards had been declined for payment by GDM/Rhino for the '72 box.  This is after both of them told them of the change of their card details as requested in the order info.

In the scheme of things, it's only a small thing, but does nothing to alter my conviction that Rhino are genuinely sh*te.

I imagine he hasn't a clue (a bit like Becks wearing a Crass shirt in LA the other year), but I quite like the idea of Joey rushing to the front door every time it rings hoping the Postie is bringing him the Europe '72 box  Wink Smiley

Intrigued by the Europe72 box set posts, I had a look at Dead.net.

The initial run of the box set (7,200?) sold out in 4 days.  So they've decided to release the full set of 60 CDs - without the "deluxe packaging" for - the same price as the limited run ($450).

Sorry, but that just doesn't compute for me. I'd expect some reduction...

I'll stick to the "Europe 72 Vol 2" 2CD set.

Not that I could afford the box set, nor could I justify spending that amount even if I had the funds.

It's actually 73 CDs, but yeah, I sort of understand you.  I think they ballsed up actually...what they should have done is said 'We'll take order for one month and we'll produce as many packages as orders we receive".  Instead they said there were only however many there were and, of course, panic buying followed and lots of people who really wanted one couldn't get it...hence the decision to release the CDs.  I imagine we'll be able to pick and chose the CDs in due course...

OK, finally got through to Dead Headquarters about my AWOL copy of the E72 box.  They have no record of my order!  This is despite my receiving emails about its progress up until the end of August.  My problem is being "escalated".  I should expect an email regarding this matter soon.  Hmmm...

I'm really f***ing underwhelmed by how little effort the Dead.net people are making to sort this out.  5 phone calls to the States - only 2 got through, and the 2nd time I was left hanging for 6 minutes and ended up just hanging up.  7 emails to their customer services and thus far only 1 reply.  I'm not going to get one am I?   Angry  Angry  Angry

Did you pay with a credit card? Get them to pursue the matter.

CJ (of SOL fame) has just contacted you with some direct contact emails etc for people in Rhino/Dead.net that others have had success with.  Hope they clear the logjam for you...

I had to leave them a card number from which they were supposed to debit the money this month.  It didn't happen.

I'm still waiting for my box but have been assured it's now on its way at last.  Yay!

Meanwhile I see that Rhino/Dead.net are going to issue all the shows separately now, which has to be good news for those who need to spread out their payments.
