Meanwhile I see that Rhino/Dead.net are going to issue all the shows separately now, which has to be good news for those who need to spread out their payments.
Jules
Good, if inevitable news, but I expect there will be a hefty price premium buying individual shows.

Finally my box is here! Let joy be unconfined! And what a thing of beauty it is too. The trunk concept is a real giggle. So cool. I seem to have been charged a mere £352 for the 73 discs. Maybe they gave me some money off for all the hassle I've been though...? I don't think I shall attempt to listen to the whole thing in one sitting. Jules

Some of you probably know of The Deadhead's Taping Compendiums Vol's I-III and The Deadhead's Taping Addendum, the latter as rare as hen's teeth.
A kind soul has donated these 4 volumes to the Pen-y-Felin woodland project I am running, and they are now listed for sale on eBay. Items numbers 250903751166 and 250903755196
(I hope its ok to mention them here - apologies if not)

Yup. I'm rather partial to a bit of '76. An underrated vintage. Jules

Bought Europe 72 vol 2 on Saturday; only halfway through CD1, but extremely impressed. Keith's piano is just so... right! And the sound is (to my ears) very good indeed.

This is on my list- but my only reservation is the packaging- card sleeves (no inners, I suspect).

Whilst as we all know, tribute bands are rubbish...the Dark Star Orchestra are, most assuredly, not (plenty of stuff online if you don't believe me).
AND, they're playing live in London next March (straight after Jam in the Dam VI at the Milky Way)
The Garage, Highbury - 18th March 2012

21 years ago today, at almost exactly this time, I first saw the Grateful Dead...I have stronger, more rational memories of the Halloween gig, but let's just say I was in a very lovely place that night (as well as Wembley Arena)

I was there too! Were-wolves of London aaahhh-ooooo! I was actually 9 months pregnant at the time but my husband told me if I went into labour I was on my own? There was a blue haze in the air as you went into the arena. My son was eventually born 2 weeks late. We reckoned he was too chilled to come out! Happy days and memories of tye-dye maternity dungarees By the way does the guy who plays like Jerry still play with DSO or just Furthur?
