Latest news on the revised Deadbase (Deadbase50) is its going to be available on Amazon (.com at least) probably 2nd week in August at $89.99 which is currently just short of 60 quid. Sadly I don't think I'll be able to afford it, but man, do I want it...
What is it exactly? Jules

What is it exactly? Jules Setlists, gig reviews & lots of other trainspottery information. Not as essential as it once was before the internet, but probably still my most consulted reference book. http://www.amazon.com/DeadBase-50-Celebrating-Years-Grateful/dp/069247093X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1437933519&sr=8-1&keywords=deadbase

Looks alright Yeah, it looks alright, but it's not quite there for a great lost album, is it? No Jack Straw. No Sugaree. No Cassidy. No Playing In The Band. No Deal. Jules

I had Deadbase XII, I think. But I don't remembering spending that much on it, twenty dollars maybe, back in 2000, I think. It is a lot fun to flip through, and it does have a lot of good information, but sadly a lot of it has been made not as essential because of the internet. Though, one of the features it has that I have not seen on any website; for every song, each time it was played, what the preceding song was, and the song that followed it. Obviously, certain songs like "Chinacat Sunflower" were almost always followed by "I Know You Rider" or "Scarlet Begonias" almost always followed by "Fire on the Mountain" (well, after spring 1977); but there were other common song pairings. Not as solid as those two, but "Bertha" and "Good Lovin'" was a common pairing in the late 1970's, "Estimated Prophet" and "Eyes of the World" as well. Or how certain songs were almost always done during certain sets, or were common show openers, or set closers. Or came out of the "space" portion in the second set. So definitely a great resource, but ninety dollars, that's steep...

OK, this is actually really good, and is the most I've been interested in the listening to anything new involving the Dead since 10 years before Jerry died. Interesting, surprising and tasteful playing AND singing. Phil Lesh with John Mayer - 6/13/15 After-show Bar Jam - Terrapin Crossroads - https://youtu.be/j00rwXi1xAc

Spotted 10 different Dead shirt wearers this year, plus Ric's. Had a number of nice random DH greetings. We ARE everywhere.

I can resist anything except temptation. Deadbase50 arrived this morning, a week before the date anticipated & it's a 950+ page monster. No extra taxes or charges. That's my afternoon activity settled, a happy bunny am I

[/quote] Nearly as silly as some recent concert ticket prices. It's nice to have a hard copy. Fortunately, I had a voucher from The Guardian readers panel that covered the majority of the cost In the States if you buy a hard copy, you can also download it as an e-book.
