I was in the former colonies and saw the announcement on the telly. I had nothing to do with his demise, I think.

21 Years?! Hell's Teeth!!! I can still remember BBC news reader Brian Perkins reading a very heartfelt tribute to Jerry. It actually sounded like he really meant it- - from the heart. I wonder if it's available.

I'd previously taken my then ladyfriend to see Cliff Richard, on the strict understanding that she would accompany me to see the Dead should they ever play again this side of the Atlantic. Imagine her dismay when I told her of Jerry's passing...

Well, I thought she was at that time. Then it all went sour. Still, water under the bridge, time's a great healer etc.
Actually, old Harry Webb put on a very entertaining career-spanning show. Not my musical taste, but very professional.

Having lived with it in both physical & Kindle versions, it is a thing of wonder. However, I have to say that overall it's a bit disappointing. The hard copy is so unwieldy and awkward to handle & kindle version is difficult to navigate as it's not searchable. I have to keep a hard copy index to get to where I want to be more quickly. My biggest criticism is that all the updates have not been integrated with previous listings, thus rendering the whole thing annoyingly unmanageable. Effectively, it's Deadbase XI with a massive appendix, which ought to have been issued as a stand alone coda to the series. If you can pick up cheap & this ain't cheap, go for it. Otherwise, there are plenty of online resources that could answer most queries.

I doubt you'll get the hard copy cheaper than this, mind....

I like that... reverb guitars & production remind me a little of the first Daniel Lanois album.

Just spotted this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001XQ8ZYI/ref=dm_cd_album_lnkDigital version of the "So Many Roads" 5CD set - 42 tracks covering 1965-1995 for £14 ! I reckon a fair few of the tracks have appeared elsewhere, however, on genuine and, er, "unauthorised" releases. Indeed I have some of them myself... obviously not a true Deadhead then, as I'd have ALL of them!

That's a good score, Paul, well spotted. It's a really excellent selection spanning their entire career & something I return to regularly. Highly recommended.

Probably my favourite Dead box set which I had at the time, sold and then fortuitously found again in a charity shop for 8 of your English pounds a couple of years ago

That'll nicely complement the '77 Tunings disc.
