This I found very entertaining. Dead & Company sound check, practicing -- learning, actually -- Easy Wind.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRbpzzDxw-s&t=2805s

I wonder what Pig and Garcia would make of Dead & Co?

Well, Pigpen might have trouble recognising the Bob he left with Bob now, but they would probably be glad that there's still members of the dead playing to an audience that wants to hear them.

It appears we're pretty close to an announcement of some European Dead & Co dates  Smiley

Where did you get your information from David?

There's some screen shots of a John Mayer message I've seen.  Also, lots of chatter on lots of forums from 'people in the know'.  As I have said I'm sceptical, but I think there is a desire to do it.  We'll see.

In my opinion only, the tune ‘Milking The Turkey’ springs to mind!

Well, they're not alone ploughing that particular furrow.
Possibly because there are so few decent new bands filling the gaps of the old warhorses.

I’d completely forgotten this video from a few years ago.
Warning: There is plenty of swearing!

I have.  Great, isn't it?  I've been really falling in love with Oteil's bass playing recently, so was a bit worried how he'd fit in, but this has some real old school groove going for it...

Excellent. Having an elegant sufficiency of the real thing, I've deliberately avoided delving too deeply into D&C. Think I may have to reconsider. Thanks for posting.  Smiley

I haven't been willing, myself, to actually go to any of these shows, for much the same reason. (Plus they're ungodly expensive.) Might as well take advantage of the fact that we have these well-recorded, well-shot videos. Wish we had more like that of the original. But by the time technology got close to what it is now, the Dead weren't worth watching anymore. This new stuff is actually better.

Nope. I mean that the D&C stuff is better than late period Grateful Dead. It's got juice. Got a shot in the musical arm. Real vocals. Real expressiveness from ALL participants. Better playing by Bob Weir. (Better singing by Bob Weir!) They're not just going through the motions like the Dead mostly did for their last years.

I loathe the setting (a bloody 'Jam Cruise' - yuk, can't imagine anything worse), but this acoustic Terrapin is really rather wonderful. See what you think...

Out on the high seas today
I saw a deadhead sticker on a cruise liner.

The big lad stood by the support in the yellow t shirt was lovin it, lovin it, lovin it, wasn't he
Really good though, cheers David.
