Walking A Changing Line

Iain
One of your albums I've always enjoyed is Walking A Changing Line - I remember buying it on cassette when it came out at Our Price Records (those were the days)!
Do you yourself rate that album highly? I really love On Squirrel Hill and Shadows Break. Do you still perform anything from the album live?
Thanks
Jamie

I wqs explaining that album to someone just yesterday.
It was the result of my self imposed exile in the 80's.
I wanted to come back with something completely different and had presented the concept to Windham Hill, who I was working for as an A & R man. They thought it wrong for the artist I had in mind. They were mistaken, I know it. So, I just did it myself and went back to them. They accepted it, I then resigned as A & R and signed as an artist.
I still believe very much in that album, though not enough to include anything in a live set. Sometimes maybe "Squirrel hill"

Can I just add a wee comment - Walking A Changing Line is, in my opinion, a remarkable record. It has a unique sound to it, which I can't describe, but it is one of my Top Ten albums ever. Iain's voice is stronger than ever on this one. (Sorry - I realise this thread is about Iain, but I couldn't resist. If you've never heard it, seek out this album).
