Talking about finally releasing all the variant versions on one collection, I've always hoped they might give 'House Full' the deluxe 2CD treatment & include the variant cuts that were on the original CD & the LA Troubador LP, plus any extras they may consider worthwhile.
Amen to that, brother! Though in terms of already released variations, it'd only be a different Sloth, a longer Mason's Apron, and the not-live-or-from-1970 overdubbed version of Poor Will. But I'm sure there's more jewels in the mine there. Also the complete LA studio sessions from 1970 would be great to hear. The sessions that provided the version of Bonny Bunch of Roses on the expanded Full House CD. Both Swarb and RT rate those recordings, I seem to recall. Jules

I'm beside myself to get another version of "Two Weeks Last Summer" with Sandy on lead vocal. That song was made for her voice.

Aye, she sings it so well you might think it was one of her own songs. Jules

Hey, I know I should be delighted, but it looks like we have to buy the stuff we have already all over again to get the unreleased stuff. Big bummer. Especially at that price. Jules

Especially at that price. Jules This is Spin only, remember. It may well come out cheaper elsewhere... I almost sound like I'm serious about buying it now, don't I?

Now would anyone here like to buy 95% of this on other cds/tapes that I have in order to finance the buying of this? Please form an orderly queue.

Relatively, yes, but we're still going to be talking nearer two tons than one. Jules

One thing's for sure - I'm not buying the All Our Own Work reissue now until I've seen the tracklisting for THE BIG ONE.

Jules RRP is expected to be around £140: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/SandyDennyList/message/6310Topic drift? Perhaps someone should start a new thread for the Sandy mega-box? This thread is about the Strawbs reissue.

Although, quite rightly, Sandy has a very high reputation, it is with a number of fans that really isn't that large in commercial terms. Frankly I can't believe the box set will sell at all, at that price.

Not when you consider that those of us who are fanatical enough to want it, likely already have at least 95% of the tracks already. I can't believe they've dug up all that much unreleased material after the last 3 multi disc sets & the bonus tracks on the remasters.

The CD has just arrived. Lovely to hear it again after all this time - my vinyl and cassette copies are past their best. From those opening chords and harmonies of On My Way, it's just wonderful. Of its time but what a time it was.

I received this today (The Sandy and Strawbs CD, not the big box) and am listening to it now.
Sounds very nice. I think I much prefer the "original album" tracklisting to the one on the Hannibal CD from 1991... I'm not a big fan of the added strings.
Now we have the whole lot on one CD.
It's a great collection of songs, though - I think stuff like "On My Way" and "Tell Me what you see in me" have stood the test of time very well indeed. "Who Knows..." will never date. Not sure about "Sweetling", "Poor Jimmy Wilson" or the song about Sam the hyprocrite.
