Saw Benny Gallagher (older viewers will recall Gallagher and Lyle) at Southwell Folk Fest yesterday.

Heard lots of stuff that had been recorded by others, actually quite an impressive line up. It included the our celebrated Boys from Oxfordshire. I thought a trawl through the songbook would reveal which one(s?) but Ames drew a blank so I went through all the albums I could find in 20 mins or so including most of the solo ones, but to no avail.

Am I missing something very obvious or is it one covered once at Crop (I've not done the anniversary albums or boxes)?

Here you are peeps an opportunity to establish super Fairport fan status!!

Well, "Friendship Song" on Gottle O' Geer is credited to Gallagher & Lyle.... (They both played on that album, too).

Technically not a "Fairport Convention" album, though, as it is credited to just "Fairport".

Blimey - Gallagher and Lyle, a real blast from the past.  I saw them in Gloucester Leisure Centre back in the 80s I think, mainly because Judie Tzuke was the support.

The rest of the team AND the manager look a bit similar don't they? (posted just after Algeria farce match)

Apparently our Wayne remarked "Nice to see your own supporters booing you off the field". Congratulations on that great piece of homespun wisdom matey.

Quick, fly Cloughie's statue over, that'll larn 'em.
