Cheers Hendo, there's likely to be more of us than will fit in a car, people carrier taxi needed.

I saw FC play the DeMontfort in, err, 1999(ish), I don't think it was a sell out but there were a lot of people there.

It's about 1700 capacity with tiered seating which I think would be a big ask for Leicester now.  The Y for an acoustic though would probably sell out.

It was last time they played there a few years ago.

Loughborough on March 1st then.

Shame there isn't a date right in Leicester but Loughborough I guess is near enough (but not for driving!)).  I used to go to that venue years ago to see the "Old style" Level 42 when they were still mainly instrumental!!  Fez

The only place in Leicester that's really an option is the Y Theatre (I don't count the impending joy that is the O2 arena), where I think they've played before but not sure when.  Probably too small for the full tour though at 350 standing, 200-250 seated, but might be ok for the acoustic?

Last time i saw fairports in leics ,i guess 7/8 yrs ago, was at the Octagon theatre in market harborough, attached to Welland Park School. Interesting venue can be seated or all standing, saw Lau here this yr.Possibly Fairports were in the school hall and not the Octagon........  it's all gone very vague.........it's fading....it's fading.....
How silly would de Montfort Hall be? Wide catchment, Would be interesting to see if fairports can fill it. Steeleye were filling theatres that sort of size, eg Brum town hall last yr.

De Montfort Hall is approximately twice the size of Birmingham Town Hall (2000 as opposed to just over 1000).

Cheers Peter. I always thought De Mont and Brum town hall were approx the same size. Thanks. I live and I learn.

Good to see they're coming back to Morecambe - note correct spelling!  Shame they're not playing the Great Hall at Lancaster Uni. I've seen Show of Hands there and the acoustics are much better than the Platform. Still, should be a good un and I'm looking forward to seeing Katriona & Jamie supporting them. Last time I saw her was supporting Fairport at the same venue with TTL.

Just seen this from @faircropfest on Twitter:

So. The 2011 Wintour which starts in January. Can anyone guess what is happening in the first half? It's a bit different!

Suggestions on a postcard? For what it's worth mine was:

The band sit and listen whilst the audience plays, and then show how its really done in the second half? Or Babbacombe Lee?

If its BL it will certainly get me along with some enthusiasm rather than just out of habit (that's a bit harsh actually, but you know what I mean) for the first time in many a year.  Should be great... Smiley

"Dream Song" was a highlight at Cropredy for me this year. Looking forward to it already. Isn't this the first full BL outing since Crop 82? Hoping for "Farewell To a Poor Man's Son" to be included.  Smiley

I'm not sure what Chris means?

FC did indeed 'do' BL on the Friday night at Cropredy '82.  And, I'm pretty certain that was the last time, yes, Ian...

Thanks David, Fact & fantasy so often blur, I was beginning to wonder.  Smiley What a wonderful Cropredy that was, the Saturday rain made this year's seem like but a single drop. However, it was fine for BL.

That would make sense... BL, interval, support, support +FC, FC.
