Group A
Rising For The Moon v The Five Seasons - bit of a solo show for Denny; if only they'd worked as a team like the Seasons. Unhalfbricking v Bonny Bunch Of Roses - mammoth freestyle show at half time from the Brickers stole the show. Full House v Angel Delight - very close match, Rosie v Nine - a match decided in the first half. Some shocking playing from both sides in the second half. Tipplers Tales v Jewel In the Crown - some ghastly foul play in the 80th minute coupled with a glorious 88th minute goal lead the Tipplers to victory. Gladys Leap v The Wood & the Wire - it seems some people's feet were too busy dancing.
Group B
Expletive Delighted v A Sense of Occasion - a glorious show and not a word spoken between them. That's teamwork that is. Fairport Convention v XXXV - draw. Babbacombe Lee v Who Knows Where The Time Goes - All together more coherant and consistant side, though some moments of magic from both. Gottle O Geer v Over The Next Hill - GOG were quite litterally trampled underfoot. Difficult to recover from that. What We Did On Our Holidays v Red & Gold - Good playing from both sides, but some cheeky tactics (including the use of guest strickers Lowther and Lacey) lead to a rare home win. Liege & Lief v Heyday (making up the numbers) - Outright winner from the start.

Winners: Group A Rising For The Moon Unhalfbricking Full House Nine Jewel In the Crown Gladys Leap Group B Expletive Delighted Fairport Convention Babbacombe Lee Over The Next Hill What We Did On Our Holidays Liege & Lief I expect an English referee again in the final match. Not that I have a problem with that.

Where's Big Dave?

So, the final scores (looking more like rugby scores)are:
Group A
Rising For The Moon v The Five Seasons 22 - 11 Unhalfbricking v Bonny Bunch Of Roses 25 - 9 Full House v Angel Delight 30 - 3 Rosie v Nine 0 - 33 Tipplers Tales v Jewel In the Crown 14 - 19 Gladys Leap v The Wood & the Wire 20 - 13
Group B
Expletive Delighted v A Sense of Occasion 22 - 12 Fairport Convention v XXXV 23 - 9 Babbacombe Lee v Who Knows Where The Time Goes 27 - 6 Gottle O Geer v Over The Next Hill 5 - 27 What We Did On Our Holidays v Red & Gold 25 - 8 Liege & Leif v Heyday (making up the numbers) 33 – 1
Which gives the following group tables:
Group A
Nine Full House Unhalfbricking Rising For The Moon Jewel In The Crown Gladys Leap Tipplers Tales The Wood & The Wire The Five Seasons Bonny Bunch of Roses Angel Delight Rosie
Group B
Liege & Leif Babbacombe Lee Over The Next Hill What We Did On Our Holidays Fairport Convention Expletive Delighted A Sense of Occasion XXXV Red & Gold Who Knows Where The Time Goes Gottle O Geer Heyday
Do we want a round of 16 or shall we progress direct to quarter finals?

Righto,
The draw for the round of 16, knockout stage is as follows. Games to be played between now and 10am tomorrow morning.
Full House v The Wood & The Wire Tipplers Tales v A Sense Of Occasion What We Did On Our Holidays v Rising For The Moon Expletive Delighted v Liege & Leif Babbacombe Lee v Unhalfbricking Nine v Over The Next Hill Fairport Convention v Jewel In the Crown Gladys Leap v XXXV
A couple of tantalising fixtures in there. One between Denny debut and Denny return. Another between the man they couldn’t hang and the word they couldn’t spell! Favourites Liege & Leif appear to have picked up an easy away tie but time will tell.

I sense some foul play here. L&L effectively being given another bye. Steward's enquiry!
