Can I just point out that as we head towards the final whistle, we now have one game that is currently a score draw. We need a result here so if there is anyone left to cast a vote, please do so before 10am!!

Not in this inaugural tournament. We are sticking to the studio albums. If we run the tournament again we will revise the eligibility criteria to include live albums and possibly organise the group stages slightly differently.

So, here are the results of the first knockout stage in our tournament, including one very tight and exciting game with the lead changing hands throughout. The general trend seems to have been for teams of a certain vintage to overcome the more recent upstarts but that may be a quirk of the way the draw has worked out.
Full House v The Wood & The Wire 31 - 4 Tipplers Tales v A Sense Of Occasion 24 - 10 What We Did On Our Holidays v Rising For The Moon 28 - 7 Expletive Delighted v Liege & Leif 1 - 33 Babbacombe Lee v Unhalfbricking 18 - 14 Nine v Over The Next Hill 28 - 6 Fairport Convention v Jewel In the Crown 18 - 17 Gladys Leap v XXXV 25 – 9
The draw therefore for the quarter finals is as follows. Games to be played by 10am tomorrow, with the semi finals later in the day and the final on Saturday.
Fairport Convention v Gladys Leap Full House v What We Did On Our Holidays Liege & Lief v Babbacombe Lee Tipplers Tales v Nine
Some interesting games in prospect there with the Liege & Lief boys (& girl) in particular having finally picked up an opponent worthy of them.

Babbacombe Lee beat Unhalfbricking? Who'da thought? Still, I think I can confidently say it's unlikely to progress further. Fairport Convention v Gladys Leap Full House v What We Did On Our Holidays Liege & Lief v Babbacombe Lee Tipplers Tales v Nine
I assume that the semis will be played at a neutral venue and that the Queen will be on hand to present the trophy to the winning side? I understand that Katharine Jenkins has already been approached to sing the traditional (sic) pre-match "Now Be Thankful" and that even now Richard Digance is already telling people that he's just going along to "see my mates". Sadly there are reports that FAFA have been heavy handed in clamping down on unauthorised merchandise sellers and that anyone approaching FC Cup venues with anything other than branded Leon's vegetarian platters in their coolboxes are being turned away, non-Wadworths tankards are being confiscated at the gate and that a hastily-convened criminal court is overseeing the proceedings against 21 attractive young folkies who turned up in Show of Hands-branded orange minidresses. Reports have it that a 'Karen' is helping police with their enquiries after obtaing media-stamped tickets from tournament commentator Mike Harding for the party. Fans are reminded that there are no deckchairs permitted beyond the half way line. On a lighter note, it is hoped that increasingly frail 91-year old ex-president Simon Nicol will be loaded on to the back of a golf cart and wheeled around the stadium at the closing ceremony. We are discouraging vuvuzelas. Fiddles and cheap plastic ukeleles will be given away to all spectators at the gate.

Fairport Convention v Gladys Leap Full House v What We Did On Our Holidays Liege & Lief v Babbacombe Lee Tipplers Tales v Nine
Really tricky this one - First album versus comeback album, West Coast rock influence versus West Oxfordshire folk influence - rock wins out.
Two classics but Full House for me - one of my top 3 FC albums
The two high concept albums battle it out but RT and Sandy bring LL home and dry.
Battle of the underdogs but Nine is one I listen to again and again so a narrow victory for Trevor and JD.
