Ah, that is the beauty of it. There was no seeding. Matches drawn purely out of a hat like the FA Cup so any team can come up against any opposition.
Surely the Nine v Rosie match wasn't random, as that was the preamble to the whole tournament....? Jules

Well yes, that was the starting point but I am not hearing any tears being cried for Rosie. If somebody wants to declare the entire tournament null & void because of this we can run the whole thing again with the new arrangements and bring in even more albums!

Found those first two tricky. Particularly hard to lose Holidays but, ultimately, no defence can hold out against that Thompson / Swarbrick partnership in their pomp.

And so we reach the semi final stage. Results of the quarters are below. I am genuinely surprised that some of these were not closer and in particular that the not very well hung squad from Babbacombe did not put up more of a fight. Fairport Convention have had a slightly easier passage to make the semis after two tight battles in earlier rounds.
Fairport Convention v Gladys Leap 21 – 14 Full House v What We Did On Our Holidays 25 – 10 Liege & Lief v Babbacombe Lee 25 – 10 Tipplers Tales v Nine 7 – 28
The draw for the semi final is as follows. Games to be played by midnight tonight.
Full House v Nine Fairport Convention v Liege & Lief
That looks pretty straightforward to me. The final looks predictable but I may yet be surprised.

Full House v Nine Fairport Convention v Liege & Lief (AET) Predictable? Probably, FC v L&L was a hard fought game, but the L&L team just managed to squeeze one in on the 119th minute

Full House v Nine - Both teams make mistakes, but a brilliant first half gets the win. Fairport Convention v Liege & Lief - The team with the new ideas leaves the opposition wondering what hit them.

Full House v Nine Tough game goes to extra time. S.Spens scores the vital goal Fairport Convention v Liege & Lief Inventive Panenka-like penalty gives the mature side the victory in the penalty shoot-out
