Full House v Nine
Fairport Convention v Liege & Lief

Another pair of predictable results, with the winners never in doubt from the off.

Full House v Nine
Fairport Convention v Liege & Lief

A closely fought match between FH & Nine saw the former edge it on consistency even though moments of Nine were sheer brilliance.

I'm slightly disappointed that these two fixtures did not get drawn the other way round which might have been interesting but as things stand...

Full House v Nine  No real contest here despite the high regard in which the opposition are held. Disadvantaged of course by being two short of a full squad!
Fairport Convention v Liege & Lief Probably the most difficult tie for me to call in the entire tournament. Almost everything falls in the face of One Sure Thing but that opening few seconds play from the legends just edges it. Come All Ye echoes from the terraces.

Full House v Nine - a close one, Nine played out of their skins, but Full House were playing Poor Will (some controversy here) and then Nobby Thankful came on for the last two minutes and scored the goal of the tournament.  Earlier goals courtesy of Spens, P (Full House) and Althea (Nine).  Final Score 2-1

Fairport Convention v Liege & Lief - alas, this was a walkover for the L&L superstars.  F.C.F.C. can congratulate themselves for getting this far, but today they may as well not even bothered turning up.  Goals from Matty Groves (2), Tam Lin (2) and "Crazy Man" Michael.  Controversially (again), "Sir" Patrick Spens had no sooner finished playing for the Full House team, than he turned up in the dying minutes of this game and scored a belter for L&L.  Final score: 6-0

Yup! It's a seminal album, first of its kind, but I don't actually like it that much. I'd prefer to listen to the first album, to be honest.

Full House v Nine
Fairport Convention v Liege & Lief

Nine was great to begin with, but faded badly in the second half.

Liege and Lief were cohesive and really well organised, and reminiscent of the Total Football of the Dutch Masters. Striker Matty Groves was accused of some showboating before being ingloriously fouled by Lord Darnell, but substitute "Crazy Man" Michael brought things under control again for the last five minutes.

Full House v Nine  In a hard fought battle the spine of thompson and nicol just had the edge over the batlle hardened veterans of the 9 line up
Fairport Convention v Liege & Lief with the change of drummer and singer the L&L team overpowered the youthful verve of the FC line up
