Have already posted elsewhere but also seems suitable to post here as well:

Missed most of the first half as I had to remove my cameras from the hall after the first two songs but got back in for the second half.

Second set in London last night was totally awesome!

That second set....
usual first number about racehorses....
Can't Win - Christine Collister (CC)
One Door Opens - Judith Owen (JO)
Al Bowlly - CC
Never Give it up - just RT band
Wall of Death - sublime! with CC

Tear Stained Letter - CC, JO, Zac Hobbs (intro'd by RT as 'Jack', before correcting himself), 'Daughter-in-law Paulina (didn't catch her surname, no indication of who she's married to) & Kami Thompson. - really beutifully done.

No Hey Joe, standard two from set-list, then RT came back on with Kami and sung a wondrous Heart Needs a Home.

Very glad that I witnessed this..

Sounds wonderful. Is it slightly curmudgeonly of me to suggest that it might be better in future to miss the original London date and go for the extra one tacked on at the end of the tour? It seems to reward those who were too slow to get tickets the first time around.  Of course that plan would backfire when no extra date is added.

Indeed - the dates in this case didn't go on sale together - if they did, you may well be right!

Kami was amazing in the final duet.  Any news of when her CD's coming out?Huh?

Interesting that until yesterday afternoon a large part of the rear stalls were unsold.  They just about filled up.

Me too, though surprised at number of empty seats in the back stalls. It was a great night, and good to see some of his family onstage as well -- Grandson Zac growing up fast, and Kami very affectionate with her dad. Yes, I was puzzled by the "daughter-in-law" reference. He and Linda have three children - right? - Maimuna, Teddy and Kami.

He was 18 in Apr 2010, when a newspaper article quoted online was written, so could well be 19 by now...

I thought there were 2 kids with Nancy, but maybe not...

(In any case, maybe Paulina is married to Teddy or one of the older girls?  I have absolutely no idea why I'm even remotely interested...in fact, on reflection, I'm not  Grin )

Sorry if this is drifting a little off topic but several years ago during the traditional post Cropredy cricket match, myself and others spent a large chunk of the afternoon, in the nets attempting to teach a very young Jack the art of bowling a cricket ball overarm. It was all to no avail however, for the all American boy it was more natural to pitch the ball baseball style. We must hope Richard, a keen cricketer himself has found time in the intervening years to teach his boy the finer points of the game.

off topic, but some want to know this

RT has only one kid, Jack, with Nancy, but his oldest son is named Jesse (read all about in the bio by Patrick Humphries Shocked)
Jesse lives in London nowadays (AFAIK) and is married to, you guessed it, Pauline

In the good old Cropredy fashion where it doesn't really matter if you can sing or not for the refrain of the last song, everybody can join in for TSL as well. And maybe Pauline is a wonderful singer.

I hope RT treats his family and takes them with him on next weeks journey to Europe
I would like to hear "A Heart Needs A Home" with Kami, if only because I will sing it myself next Friday on my son's Wedding Day  Smiley

What? No reviews of the last night of the tour in Brighton yesterday?

Well, here goes then. Actually everything that has been said before applies here except that I think we got a slightly shorter show for some reason. No Geordie. No Crimescene. No Bright Lights.

On the other hand I think a sort of end of term mood was prevailing. There was a lot of banter and on stage messing about. RT talked and joked extensively and we got absolutely incendiary performances of Sydney Wells and Can't Win.

Great night and none the worse for sticking to the electric template and missing out Vincent for once (though I might have preferred him to play Amongst the Gorse Amongst the Grey acoustically as I am not that keen on the band arrangement).

And that bass player is a one isn't he? I wonder if he can get England past Denmark next week?

Great. Now to organise getting Sky Arts. I had Sky Arts free with Virgin but have to pay extra with Sky. That seems wrong!

Lets hope the sound guy is not the same one as used at Cropredy.

I added it from Sky for Cropredy highlights and it was only £1 extra per week.

Also at Brighton last night.
Don't need to add anything to the superlatives, except to say, Michael Jerome. What a star. He was doing things that to my eyes and ears were bordering on the supernatural.

Yes I forgot to mention him. His drumming is almost dancing. It is quite mesmerising.

A couple of tracks from Bristol are on YouTube, in reasonable quality:

and
