Tricky one to organise this. In order to make it work I have restricted it to official releases but have had to include a few collaborations and film soundtracks.

So, two groups drawn from a hat. Seven winners from each group progress to the round of 16 along with two lucky losers.

Group A

Guitar Vocal v 1000 Years of Popular Music
Across A Crowded Room v Pour Down Like Silver
You Me Us v  I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight
Henry The Human Fly v Mirror Blue
Hand Of Kindness v Hokey Pokey
Industry v Strict Tempo
Front Parlour Ballads v Sunnyvista

Group B

The Bones Of All Men v Mock Tudor
Grizzly Man v First Light
Sweet Talker v Shoot Out The Lights
Amnesia v Small Town Romance
In Concert November 1975 v Daring Adventures
Saturday Rolling Around v Rumor & Sigh
Sweet Warrior v The Old Kit Bag

Some fairly one sided fixtures in Group B it would appear but the bottom one might be a cracker.

Here we go again...

Full time whistle, 6pm 19 June

Group A

Guitar Vocal v 1000 Years of Popular Music
Across A Crowded Room v Pour Down Like Silver
You Me Us v I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight
Henry The Human Fly v Mirror Blue  (this one was almost impossible, I tossed, MB won, so I let Henry win, logic)
Hand Of Kindness v Hokey Pokey
Industry v Strict Tempo
Front Parlour Ballads v Sunnyvista

Group B

Rock On v Mock Tudor
Grizzly Man v First Light
Sweet Talker v Shoot Out The Lights
Amnesia v Small Town Romance
In Concert November 1975 v Daring Adventures
Saturday Rolling Around v Rumor & Sigh
Sweet Warrior v The Old Kit Bag

Grin No seeding. Just honest names out of a hat.

There has however been a late substitution, The Bones of All Men being more of an RT venture than Rock On which was more of an Ashley Hutchings led team.

Oy! When we get to the Albion Band tournament count me out...

And what about the French-Frith-Kaiser-Thompson collaborations, or the David Thomas ones?  I would have thought it would be fairer to not include compilations, since they each span several years and therefor the matches don't pit a particular RT carreer time period vs another.  But I suspect it's too late to make these type of suggestions, so...

Group A

Guitar Vocal v 1000 Years of Popular Music
Across A Crowded Room v Pour Down Like Silver
You Me Us v  I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight
Henry The Human Fly v Mirror Blue
Hand Of Kindness v Hokey Pokey
Industry v Strict Tempo
Front Parlour Ballads v Sunnyvista

Group B

The Bones Of All Men v Mock Tudor
Grizzly Man v First Light
Sweet Talker v Shoot Out The Lights
Amnesia v Small Town Romance
In Concert November 1975 v Daring Adventures
Saturday Rolling Around v Rumor & Sigh
Sweet Warrior v The Old Kit Bag

Once again, I'd be surprised if SOTL isn't the champ when all is said and done.  If I'm right can we have a match between it and Liege and Lief?

I considered FFKT but have tried as far as possible to limit this to projects where RT is at least 50% of the collaboration. The only compilation here is Guitar Vocal which, at the time of issue was more or less all previously unreleased material.

With a field of 32, some of the entries looked a bit tenuous. I had to draw thw line somewhere. Besides FAFAs decision is final.  Grin

Group A

Guitar Vocal v 1000 Years of Popular Music

A dull match saved in injury time by a header from Briteny Spears.

Across A Crowded Room v Pour Down Like Silver

Nightmare tie, one seeded album headed for an early bath to be sure

You Me Us v  I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight

The Bright Lights boys don't ever break a sweat.

Henry The Human Fly v Mirror Blue

BY a beeswing

Hand Of Kindness v Hokey Pokey

Aaarg ! Close one

Industry v Strict Tempo

The Talkawile equivalent of Darlington v's Accrington Stanley.
Played in the snow
At night
With no floodlights
Or ball

Front Parlour Ballads v Sunnyvista

Comfortable win by the fashionable housing estate.

Group B

The Bones Of All Men v Mock Tudor

Tough one

Grizzly Man v First Light

Fielding a bear may be hard, but stands no chance against the Islamic massive.

Sweet Talker v Shoot Out The Lights

Walkover

Amnesia v Small Town Romance

Another walkover

In Concert November 1975 v Daring Adventures

Generally I prefer the live stuff, but, y'know, its Daring Adventures already

Saturday Rolling Around v Rumor & Sigh

One side rolled around, the other turned up on Motorbikes.

Sweet Warrior v The Old Kit Bag

Difficult one, but in the end only one side turned up in its kit.

Would like to take part, but the only RT I own is the recent box set. Great, but not much help in this game. Will watch with interest and then probably buy the finalists.

Some really tough ones here. At least three fixtures where I can't choose between them without the aid of a pin!

Group A

Guitar Vocal v 1000 Years of Popular Music
Across A Crowded Room v Pour Down Like Silver  Late winner from Dargai.
You Me Us v  I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight
Henry The Human Fly v Mirror Blue  Almost impossible to call but The Poor Ditching Boy just clinches it.
Hand Of Kindness v Hokey Pokey
Industry v Strict Tempo
Front Parlour Ballads v Sunnyvista

Group B

The Bones Of All Men v Mock Tudor
Grizzly Man v First Light
Sweet Talker v Shoot Out The Lights
Amnesia v Small Town Romance
In Concert November 1975 v Daring Adventures
Saturday Rolling Around v Rumor & Sigh
Sweet Warrior v The Old Kit Bag  Equally matched sides. The result entirely down to Destiny.

This tournament can only get harder and harder.
