Some of those were tough for me as I'm not overly familiar with Richard's albums from the last 10 years or so.  But I think I'm happy with my final decisions.

Oh Jules, you need to become familiar with them. The man is a watchword for consistent greatness, with one possible exception imho but I shall keep mum over which one I think that is for the purpose of this competition.

Oh I'm not ignoring them on purpose, Gub - I'm just still in the process of buying his back catalogue in chronological order!

Shock horror! It is still nearly 2 months until Croredy! Or is there something wrong with the referees watch?  Grin

Er, spot the deliberate mistake. I was just checking to see who would notice. That should be 19 July.  Embarrassed

Apart from albums that I remember as being outstanding, I'm at a bit of a loss, because mostly I've just filled a playlist on my mp3 player and forgotten which track comes from where. I think most are from the box set.

I think this could be an interesting one, as so many people have come in at different points in his career and may have particular soft spots for the albums that were out at the time. My introduction came at the tail end of the Hand of Kindness era and stretched across the Polygram period, so I always rate those albums higher than (say) some of the classic Island recordings. I reckon there's a couple of dark horses there that, with a favourable draw, could go all the way.

A lot of these are based on indiviual tracks, as, I own very few actual albums (three I think) plus the box-set, a compliation and a few boots.

A lot of very close matches there, and some truly great teams out in the first round. You Me Us v Bright Lights was particularly tough. A bit like matching Liverpool in their 1980s pomp against the Welsh rugby team of the 1970s.

Feel free Ollie but somebody else will have to take it on as I know nothing about Steeleye Span.
