Hand of Kindness v Shoot Out The Lights  Really hard, but the sentimental favourite loses out at the last to the better album

Result as expected in one semi, however plucky underdog fights back and, based on prior form, may provide the shock of the competiton.

The first semi was a very hard one to call.  In the second, the plucky minnows finally fell to major league opposition.

HTHF fielded a strong team, but in the end didn't have quite the control to overcome a more sophisticated and consistent team in IWTSTBLT. The first semi was a similar story - sheer quality and some agggressive solo flair won out against a much less robust team.

What a dissapointment, we are going to end up with the 'obvious' final.

I would have loved for Rumour and Sigh or Amnesia to have made the cut.

Almost impossible to separate these albums for me. The gut feeling and old sentimentality decided the final choices. In terms of football: both games go to extra time and extra penalties...

Straightforward away wins in both fixtures.......or are the semis played on neutral grounds?

Hand of Kindness v Shoot Out The Lights - an easy victory

Henry The Human Fly v I Want To See the Bright Lights Tonight - but this one was a battle royale, an early goal by Williams, V. put the Henrys ahead, only for Valerio, G. to equalise for the Bright Lights, then a superb last minute goal by Nancy, S. saw the underdogs pull a surprise victory out of the hat - the crowd was screaming "Nancy!" in a most entertaining manner.
