Threads like this really don't tell us anything. All we end up with is a list of all the available turns. Next weekend when Cropredy is a month gone the 'Cropredy 2010' topic will be moved to a less prominant location and we will start looking forward to upcoming tours.
We will have a topic about suggested acts for Cropredy 2011, but not just lists, more a discussion.

Can I just ask, has any suggestion here ever resulted in an actual booking?

Gong would be nice Stackridge would be lovely and I think a return visit from the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain is now overdue and if Peggy and Simon want a really cool young band then I can recommend The Keston Cobblers Club http://www.myspace.com/keston_cobblers_club

Can I just ask, has any suggestion here ever resulted in an actual booking? Well, since it seems that pretty much every musical act in existence has been suggested, and therefore most if not all of the acts booked must have been suggested, it merely falls to us to prove a causal link, and assure ourselves that we have not fallen into the logical pitfall of "post hoc, ergo propter hoc". I ain't drunk. I like Gogol Bordello too.

gogol bordello rock my socks off, but i don't like socks, so good riddance. i still like gogol bordello though.
i'd love to see yusuf do a full set aswell.
and to see my guitar hero john frusciante do a set would quite literally make me turn into a screaming girly fanboy (but only for a while, then i'd go back to being an indifferent manly yorkshireman, ahem)

How about a reconvened 'Rise Up Like The Sun' Albion Band doing the whole album? I'd love to see that. They'd have to find a worthy stand-in for the late and much missed Kate McG, of course.

unlikely as Mr Tams more or less booked the home service, for next years bash, from the stage

If I remember correctly, they tried to get the RULTS line up together sometime last year, but it all fell apart. My guess is that JT then tried to get Home Service back together as a result of that.

It would be great to see The Home Service or that vintage Albion line-up at Cropredy. Either way you get Tams, Taylor and Gregory on stage together. Or you could have a sort of evolving set where one band merges with the next. This is fantasy after all.

First and foremost: Robert Plant.
He's touring again, for a start. He has a new album coming out. Who can say that they didn't get a shiver down their spine when he came out for "The Battle Of Evermore" a couple of years back?
After that, well, does it matter?

Please Sir. Me Sir. Frankly, Ms Donahue's considerable talent could have been put to better use. (I know, burn the heretic)
