Jazz: can we have Diana Krall please? If only because the last time I mentioned her on this forum, several people nearly exploded with rage. Purists - you gotta love 'em.
and can she bring her other half along for a set too? Now that would be infinitely better! But I would guess he's quite expensive from some of the ticket prices I've seen.

Can I just ask, has any suggestion here ever resulted in an actual booking? OK, I'm playing catch up and haven't read the rest of this thread yet but last year at this time I suggested Little Feat. Probably coincidence but ....

I get worked up about him becoming a singer. Didnt think I'd like Imelda May but really enjoyed her when I saw her.

She certainly has. On so many levels. She would be perfect. there is always one or more band every year that fit into the bluegrass or rockabilly genre (i'm not saying those two genres are the same by the way). but somebody in the fairport camp obviously has a penchant for that american sound, and even though she isn't american i really think she is the hot property in the rockabilly genre. even people who have never enjoyed that kind of music before find themselves tapping their toes. it's infectious music. come on mr pegg, give her a call.

Sorry if I've missed it, but has anyone mentioned Darrell Scott? Complete with band featuring Danny Thompson & Tim O'Brien would be favourite.

Good call. I started listening to Darrell after hearing some recordings of him with Steve Earle's Bluegrass Dukes, of which Tim O'Brien was also a member.
