The Go-Go's yes, failing them how about The Bangles (still very much touring) ?
Cue lots of be-fezed folk walking like Egyptians all over the field.

I've just been perusing Graeme Taylor's website - and there is news on the Home Service reunion: a live album (which appears to include some previously unheard/unreleased material from the Cambridge Folk Festival in 1986) is due in the late spring/early summer, there's 1 confirmed gig (so far) at Derby Playhouse on Sunday 9 Oct, and, I quote, "Cambridge & Cropredy festivals are pending"... fingers AND toes crossed for that!

I see that The Transatlantic Sessions are touring in early 2011 - how about a bit of that? Or, if not, get Julie Fowlis back and hope it's not a downpour this time!

Yes, he sounds good. Hopefully he might be one of several banjo players at Cropredy. The more the merrier.

Cue lots of be-fezed folk walking like Egyptians all over the field. I think The Saw Doctors made the most erudite and pertinent critique of The Bangles' oevre, when they remarked "I wouldn't kiss mister Tambourine Man No matter how he jingle-jangled But Jesus Christ Almighty I'd love to bang the Bangles!!!!"

Bangles yes please What about the mighty Nils Lofgren? So much better live than on record, and must be reasonably priced as we have seen him at several small venues.

I am allowed the third this? Thought I’d check these guys out at the Big Session and was suitably impressed!

Turin Brakes please.
The more I hear them the more I like them. I'd love to see them at Cropredy outside in the sun (actually, almost anyone in the sun!!)

I like to think I'm musically quite catholic and listen to a lot of acts, but I've never heard of these and thus would venture to guess they'd be unlikely to bring in a crowd. I could be wrong there, of course. On the other hand, I was just struck by the thought of Gogol Bordello. That'd be an interesting band to have on Friday night, which will inevitably actually feature Richard Thompson as he wasn't on last year.

Not so, Andy - RT doesn't play every other year these days - in fact, he has been quoted as saying he'd do every 5 years. But that was blown out when they needed him one year...

I could be wrong there, of course. Of all the people, I'd have had you down as being one of the first to have heard of Tim Blake, Andy. This isn't a criticism, mind. I'm fingers crossed that the traditional year on, year off routine still holds for RT and that he doesn't take a sabbatical. Stranger things have happened though, especially with 2012 being the 45th anniversary.
