A big YES to Fish too!
A large cod in a tank, centre stage, would be preferable. Yes indeed. I'd much rather watch that. If Gong and Fish (or Marillion) ever both show up at Croppers then I'll be going to another festival as far away from it as possible. Jules Speaking of things piscatorial, I'd like to see stadium stoners Phish, plus, The Invisible Opera Company of Tibet (so Jules won't know what's hit him until he's innocently grooving with wild abandon)  As a Deadhead who's really tried hard to love Phish, I have to say I'm not that bothered about them any more (although if they promised to play the whole of Billy Breathes I'd leave the bar...I have a ridiculous amount of, probably unwarranted, love for that album). I'm amazed Jules despises Gong so much...truly a wonderful band. TIOCoT would be an interesting alternative. I loved Marillion 25 years ago...but actually think the current band are a hundred times more interesting than anything Fish has done in the last 2 decades. |

Ah, silly me. I'd always thought of COIT an a nom de guerre of Dingo Daevid's outfit. I wasn't aware there is a current entity of that name.
Unlike the Dead, I find a little Phish goes quite a long way & a little Fish goes even further. But in not too dissimilar vein, String Cheese, or Yonder Mountain String Band would both go down well. Possibly.

People who want to see fish could go to the canal basin market and watch people have their feet nibbled by the little blighters.
They could even have therir feet nibbled whilst listening to Marillion on their Sony walkpersons, or whatever the young folk have these days.

He'd be brilliant, I'm sure he could refrain from swearing just for 1 hour. He would be a fantastic choice. Leatherat managed not to be all sweary so I imagine Frank could do it too. Which means he couldn't sing that one about Thatcher of course. But a big thumbs up from me to Frank Turner playing Cropredy. |

I want to see bands that a small proportion of the audience really love, and another small proportion really hate, with a majority of people, just chilling out, or tapping thier feet, possibly thinking "Hey this is actually quite good/nice/brilliant/absolute ****". And room at the bar/front is always nice |

I'm also sure you're just pretending you never heard my lengthy 'How I had tea with Derek Dick backstage at Reading '83' yarns. How easily one forgets! Ask your husband about Gong. He likes them, even if it was only for one day.... |

Yes well, but as you know Robert Plant brushed past me!(Projection Records stall, Cropredy '92) He must've legged it across the field to get there before I moved!!!
Wouldn't mind seeing him again / Roy Harper / Caravan I think is v unlikely though, isn't Pye Hastings in Scotland, or a meringue?
