I saw something the other day that suggested Roy Harper may be coming out to play again.
Nothing specific, from what I remember though, can't even remember where I read it.

he already has - he's been supporting Joanna Newsom on tour.

I'd be more than happy to see ELP at Cropredy. Soundtrack to my yoof! I don't care if they're egotistical dinosaurs, I'd enjoy it  Roll Eyes

As well as about a dozen dates supporting JN last year he also played a solo date at the Jazz Cafe.  He's also playing one of these mega expensive tv shows...£195.  Now sold out.  Gulp.

Caravan did one of the same shows last Nov I think.

Much as I love RH's recorded work, he can be a bit trying live in the sense of too much rambling talk and not enough playing..

Whilst I agree totally, getting used to 45 minute sets with very little chat to an audience (as a whole) that doesn't know him very well might just have been the kick up the arse the old goat needed.

If we must go back to the druggier part of the 70's, I'd rather have Gong than Hawkwind.

But that's just me..... and my Cropredy buddy.

Now both would be wonderful.

Can I be excused that day?   I'll bring a sick note and everything.  Just don't make me listen to Gong!  Shocked

A big YES to Fish too!

A large cod in a tank, centre stage, would be preferable.

Oh bugger I'd better get my filletting knives sharpened, Mr Dick has just been announced for the Acoustic festival.

Robyn Hitchcock, interesting repertoire, entertaining performer with band or solo.

Saw The Feelgoods last year and still a very good live act. The two teens who were with me thought them "awesome" so the band must be good.  Grin

And if they are coming, why not Eddie and the Hot Rods, their old muckers and just as exciting live (30 odd years ago  Roll Eyes )

On the occasions that I saw RH live at festivals in the 70s, he took longer than that tuning up & eventually got kicked offstage, so the next act could come on.

Buffy Sainte Marie is playing Cornbury.

She'd be great for Cropredy, and is still making relevant music.

Yes well, but as you know Robert Plant brushed past me!(Projection Records stall, Cropredy '92) He must've legged it across the field to get there before I moved!!!
Wouldn't mind seeing him again / Roy Harper / Caravan I think is v unlikely though, isn't Pye Hastings in Scotland, or a meringue?

"Expecting a Full House at Fairport Towers this afternoon. "

I wonder......

OK I am going to say this once again, and I say it with the utmost sincerity/hope - I would really like to see the Decemberists at Cropredy.

Oh - and Afro Celt Sound System - Pretty Please!!!  Cheesy Grin Tiara Kiss
