I can't work out whether it's actually been written yet. I'm sure it will be an extraordinary book with or without any input from me..

"........ as told to Fairport expert Nigel Schofield"
Given the Free Reed boxset books by him it sounds promising, but I hope they get a proofreader to weed out the mistakes, given those same Free Reed books

Maybe there'll be no new interviews and they'll just use previous quotes....hence why Jude hasn't been contacted by anyone.
I do love the book that came with the Free Reed box. If it has anything like the same amount of detail and research then it'll be fab.

if they are taking The Beatles Anthology or The Pythons books as their models it should be fine.
The Beatles Anthology video series was brilliant. Something like that for Fairport would be great as well. The book should be great, providing it has as much great content as the 'Fairport unConventional ' book does, with more detail. Obviously coming from Fairport themselves, it'll be a more reliable source.

You may think that but I know for certain that some events are better remembered by audience members than by Fairport themselves. Can't say for definite, but alcohol may have been involved...

Hopefully they'll spell Ashley's name right all the way through (and maybe Maart isn't a key member after all) More seriously, it does look good. Interest duly registered.

If we're talking those prices (God forbid!), I'm with Jeremy on this.
Surely you'll be getting one free, Chris? "...in addition, the book draws on the archives of photographs and historic documents preserved by professionals, friends and fans throughout their career, including Kingsley Abbott, Anders Folke, Chris Bates, Mark Hadley, Tony Fisher, Ian Burgess and Geoff Wall."http://fairportconventionbook.com/

I looked inside.... Simon Nichol. *facepalm* And surely the title of the song is The Festival Bell, not Cropredy Bells.
Having said that, it does look like a really good book.

what a masterstroke the chaps have pulled off by publishing this counterweight in latin! that should frighten the horses and keep it out of the hands of the lower orders while latin scholars as myself will pour over it for hidden depths for years to come. plenty of work also for the catholic clergy translating it for those of you with no latin to speak of but a passing interest in the once popular beat combo.
till then, i'll just leave you with this maxim which has given me great comfort over the years, quid hunc errat quasimus est sic mondeo passat
ps : just one thing, i do hope the actual book is going to be proof read by someone with a working knowledge of the band and how their names are spelt, eg Simon Nichol and Ashley Hutching, if we are going to be asked to shell out a considerable sum i would hope no basic errors like this will sneak through.
