yes Jules but you're  a SOUTHERN ex linguini student
its Bookie as in BOO key    not BUCKy

Southern?  Dad from Manchester, mum from Wigan, born in Darlington, raised in North Yorkshire, lived 22 years in Birmingham before moving here.  Southern?!?!

Besides which the Lancastrian pronunciation of 'bookie' is notoriously out on its own limb.  Lovely, but daft.   Wink

I'd say it rhymed, even if she sang about putting a bet on a race in Newmarket!   Wink

Indeed, my Lancastrian grannie would have pronounced "bookie" as booh-kee. She never mentioned Kentucky but I think she would have rhymed it with lucky.  Nevertheless, I'm A Dreamer would get my vote - you just press play and drift away and then there's that awesome guitar solo.  Inspiring stuff and good for guilty day-dreamers.

Result of listener poll:

'I’m A Dreamer (second demo)' and 'Who Knows Where the Time Goes (first demo)' will be on the 7” single available at your local independent record store on 16th April 2011.

At the risk of sounding grumpy, I wonder...

A) How many of us will try to order this to be told 'they are out of stock to order' ?
and...

B) How many copies will be on eBay by the end of that week ?

I think the idea of Record Store Day is that it gets people to physically visit a record shop rather than 'order' things. After that, of course, I imagine that yes, most of them will be on eBay.

I wonder how much those old-fangled singles cost these days ?

It's likely to stay mint for a while, too, I don't have a turntable.

As it happens my other vinyl purchase of the day also has a tenuous FC link. The B-side of Kort's (Kurt Wagner& Cortney Tidwell) version of Please don't touch is a cover of Time wil show the wiser. Haven't got round to listening to it yet though.

They'd sold out at both the record shops in Leeds before I got there at 9.30.

Hi . I'm new to these boards. I stood in a queue for an hour and got a copy. It's sublime-  unlike lots of ltd. 7" singles, it's a very quiet pressing, and the packaging is nice, too. I could have hied me off to another record shop and bought another, (sometimes get 2 of something as rare as this) but decided, in a rush of public spirit, to leave io for another fan.
