The only thing I dont like about it, is the release date! Too late for my birthday and to early for X-mas ... Better find some space in the "Holidays" piggy bank...

I've got that A Little Night Music. It's a good concert with a great band, Mattacks, Nicol, Pegg, Kirkpatrick, but suffers from the weirdest camera angles I've ever seen (you never get to see Simon's face, for instance) and Lida's voice is a bit rough. Still worth having, though. There was also one with The Home Service which was brilliant. I transferred it to DVD and chucked the video. The DVD no longer works (AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGH). Anyone got a copy?

That sounds like a great box!
On a related matter, back in the day I recorded an RT Big Band concert off the radio (1983 or 84, I guess). which was great. I can't remember now if that was a BBC recording or possibly from Capital Radio. Anyone else remember that and know if any of it has ever turned up on any official releases? Judging by some of the on-stage banter, Simon Nicol must have been playing the Cornflake guitar for at least part of the show.

I have a very nice RT concert from a Swedish Radio broadcast, September 1983 on cassette. Nine songs and the line-up = Fairport FH minus Swarb. Excellent in several ways but I haven´t seen tracks from that FM show surface anywhere. My favourite RT period -Shoot Out...& Hand of Kindness

There's a big gap in there. Is there really nothing from between 1987 & 2001? I can think of at least two Radio 1 In Concert appearances during that period and I'm sure there were more concerts and sessions.

I'm sure there was an Andy Kershaw session around the time of Rumor and Sigh. IIRC Andy Kershaw asked RT how he came to write Vincent Black Lightning to which RT replied 'I used my imagination!'

Now available for pre-order - £29.99 direct from Universal Music is cheaper than Amazon.
Definitely a must-have for RT fanatics like myself.

They are also offering a fiver off either Sandy or Fairport Live at the BBC sets if you buy them at the same time. I don't have the Sandy set yet, and their initial price for that is lower than Amazon too... tempting!
