As Al noted earlier, no material between 1987 & 2001. Has it been established why?

My guess is that it's down to Capitol Records. In 1987/88 he moved from Polygram to Capitol, then he parted company with them in 2001. Perhaps his contract with Capitol has prevented commercial release of sessions from that period? Cheers Nick

I think you may have rumbled the reason there, Nick. Jules

I wonder then if Capitol might consider their own set? There is substantial BBC material from that period to choose from.

While I would love to see that, why do I get a sneaking suspicion that the last word from Capitol Records and Richard will be that Action Packed collection from a few years back. Not basing that on anything, and I could be wrong, but just a gut feeling.

I know what you mean but there would seem little point in them witholding permission to release sessions, if indeed that is waht has happened, unless they planned to do something with them themselves.

I can only report report that it is up on my music streaming service and sounds tremendous! Mind you the first thing I did was listen to " A heart needs a home " and I am more or less typing through the tears.
On a related point I was watching the RT concert on last Thursday when her nibs arrived in from her book club.
She said "Oh Richard Thompson, lovely,I'll have a glass of wine with you ".After a few minutes she said,"I don't suppose he'll ever get back with Linda"?
In her defence she loves The Dimming of the Day and when she hears it always says,"that beautiful song, and they broke up"!.

My answer to herself on the night was that I expected Israel and Palestine to make peace sooner.
She did suggest that a Richard/Teddy or Linda/Teddy collaboration might work.
Can you imagine? Teddy and Linda Thompson sing the songs of Richard Thompson.

It sounds great, but without the Oedipal twang of Teddy and Linda singing "Don't renege on our love".
We'll see.
A quick search of youtube doesn't throw up anything as pervy as that.

It has happened before on the Celtschmerz tour before Teddy's first album came out. I remember a number of duets at the Crawley gig.

Actually, it's happened ... sort of. Teddy has toured with his mother to promote her solo albums and yes, some RT songs have been performed on those tours. I have a couple recordings, aamof.

All 3 performed THE HOLY AND THE IVY at the Queen Elisabeth Hall in December 2008, right? Or does that count?

Not an RT song, I know, but Richard and Linda did sing 'Go Leave' at the Kate McGarrigle evening at the Festival Hall. That's on youtube.
