Only 2 of my 20 in that top 5. Two of the others I am quite surprised by, at least that they would rank that highly.

Things like this always cause me a problem since I remember songs but not titles.  This is probably asking for trouble, and I think I may have clicked on the wrong "BL" track, but here goes...

Fairport Convention — Time Will Show The Wiser
Fairport Convention — Jack O'Diamonds
What We Did On Our Holidays — Mr Lacey
What We Did On Our Holidays — Meet On The Ledge
Unhalfbricking — Si Tu Dois Partir
Unhalfbricking — Who Knows Where the Time Goes
Leige & Lief — Come All Ye
Leige & Lief — Farewell, Farewell
Leige & Lief — Tam Lin
Full House — Walk Awhile
Full House — Sloth
Full House — Doctor of Physick
Babbacombe Lee — Wake Up John
Nine — The Hexhamshire Lass
Tipplers Tales — Bottom Of The Punch Bowl / East Nuke Of Fyfe / Ye Mariner's All
Red & Gold — Red And Gold
Who Knows Where The Time Goes? — John Gaudie / Jack Brook Da Prison Door / Donald Blue / The Bonnie Isle O'Whalsay
The Wood & The Wire — The Wood And The Wire
Over The Next Hill — Wait For The Tide To Come In
Sense Of Occasion — Hawkwood's Army

Well, 3 of the top 5 so far are ones I picked....but I think my other picks stand a good chance of not being there. Wish I had the chance to submit a second list, and a third...maybe I'd get it right by that point  Cheesy

Unfortunately one of my favorite tracks wasn't mentioned as a choice .
From Cropredy to Portmerion's CD version of Matty Groves ranks very highly with me .

Possibly because you have a to pick a song and not a version of a song.

None of my choices are in the top 5. I'm not sure what that means apart form it is unlikely I will win a CD.

If its the one I think it is (with Chris and Kellie While) that was live. I bought it, but a quick glimpse at the ipod tells me I don't have it on there at the moment to confirm.

That's the one.

So, to be clear, the current line up have already released studio re-recordings of the following songs associated with previous incarnations of the band so it would be strange for them to re-work them again:

Portmeiron
The Banks of Sweet Primroses
Now Be Thankful
Si Tu Dois Partir
Polly On The Shore
Tam Lin
Rising For The Moon

They have never actually reworked WKWTTG in the studio despite it being the title track of the 1997 album, That version was "live" and it was of course a previous line up.

On reflection I suppose there is precedent for all of this. "Meet On The Ledge", originally by Fairport 69 (Mk1) was re-recorded by Fairport 87. The rest of "In Real Time" comprised re-recordings too, despite it masquerading as a live album, in a similar spirit I guess to this new project. And "Expletive Delighted" also contained several reworkings of earlier material.

What a tangled web!

3 of my choices in the top 5!

Rosie isn't one by the way, never saw the attraction to that song (sorry to Rosie fans)

Me either. If I remember rightly mine were:

Meet On The Ledge
Come All Ye
Instrumental Medley from Liege & Lief
Crazy Man Michael
Sloth
Sir Patrick Spens
Journeyman's Grace
Angel Delight
Trial Song
Wake Up John (Hanging Song)
Now Be Thankful
Hexhamshire Lass
One More Chance
The Poor Ditching Boy
How Many Times?
Claudy Banks
The Wounded Whale
John Gaudie
Spanish Main

There's one missing but I can't remember what it was!  Embarrassed Possibly Time Will Show The Wiser.

I went for songs and instumentals that the current line-up have never tackled so don't expect to win either.
