I absolutely adore the Ashley Hutchings' post Albion Band project, Rainbow Chasers. Their wesbite doesn't seem to have a lot of information, but through Ruth Angell's own site I found her twitter account, and on 10 May Rachel writes "Phew!! Two days of full on vocal sessions,The Chasers album nearly finished!!". So that made my day, it's been too quiet on the Rainbow Chasers recording front in recent years. Very much looking forward to this.

Excellent news - thought they were great at the Cropredy Fringe last year and was hoping to see them on the main stage this year.  Will be looking forward to this!

According to Ashley it should be out in late Summer on the High Barn label.

I read somewhere (think it was their website) that they were putting together a sort of 'best of' compilation album.

Presumably that's Talking Elephant's pointless Best Of 2004-2010 compilation from last year. Pointless as in, they made 2 albums. Why release a compilation containing tracks from a mere 2 albums? Of course they added a few bonus tracks so that an idiot like me buys it  Tongue  but: pointless, and the artwork is minimal without even any writing credit.

Erm .... info about recording of new album has been on Ashley's site since early April. No details yet about track listings but check back soon. Compilation info was posted some time ago.

Er, ok, yes. Well, it wasn't on the Rainbow Chasers site anyway where I would have expected it http://www.rainbowchasers.co.uk
'Breaking news' there is the announcement of last year's compilation album ...

Er. The new album should've been out in the autumn. But I can't really find which autumn?
Googling brings me a title (Under The Eaves) and it says somewhere that they are now the Chasers (losing the Rainbow bit), but I can't find anything else. Anyone knows this is still happening?

Talking Elephant's artwork and presentation is generally mediocre... I'm also not impressed by the sound on some of the reissues I've bought from them.
