Happened on someone's upload of A Sailor's Life on YouTube and found this marvellous comment from a guy called Franz in the States.

I listened to this stoned during the war....1969. It was on the juke box on Tu Dou Street in Saigon

Blimey....and I thought I was cool listening to it in my bedroom, drinking Co-op tea....... Cheesy

Isn't that so sad, tho'.  We seem to have nothing but war these days.  I can hardly remember a day with peace since I was a small child (and I probably only imagined that).  One minute we're fighting fascism, then we were fighting communism, then fighting for oil and now fighting terrorism. Everyone's out of step but us.

To quote the Who "meet the new boss, same as the old boss, we won't be fooled again".  Oh but we will.

PEACE

Steve
