My goodness, I think we will have to get used to seeing Mr Thompson dressed up to the nines, what with his recent appearance at Buck House - and now this!

Absolutely wonderful. Congratulations!  Smiley Tiara

Thanks for the links Arie!

I think he should replace the berets with mortarboards. Tongue

Seriously though, well done Mr T, a thoroughly well-deserved couple of gongs.

With all these fancy frocks, can we expect Glam-Folkrock as the new music ?

It looks in the picture as if he's a graduate rather than a graduand .... (says the pedantic University Lecturer).

(That reminds me of a joke: Q: "Who lead the pedant's revolt?" ; A: "Which Tyler".)

Sorry, Peter, is that "nit-pick" with or without a hyphen?  Smiley

I'd have to consult my style guide. But then, I did misspell "led", so I'll have to go and stand in the corner .... Smiley

At least he posed for photos unlike a certain Mr Dylan who received an honorary doc from St Andrews in 2004. I was living in the area at the time and by all reports Bob sat through the ceremony looking bored and couldn't wait to get back in his blacked-out people carrrier and bugger off. Miserable so and so.

If they'd given an award to Stephen Stills he would have at least stopped for a round of golf.  Smiley

But Aberdeen is a fine city. I studied there myself back in the 80s but at one of the colleges rather than the uni.

From Beesweb - Catch of the Day...

"Next day was the Graduation dinner, with all the Honorary Graduates, heads of Faculty, and City dignitaries, and a good excuse to get the kilt on."

RT in a kilt? I wonder if he wore it in the traditional manner?!  Grin

That's right. It's in Patrick Humphries's RT biog. A picture of him and Danny Thompson, "The McThompson Twins".
