https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_deaths_in_rock_and_roll#1950sLooking at this list, contrary to the conspiracy theory, very few rock stars died at 27 but the vast majority didn't make decent ages.

Its not Budgie out of Siouxsie and the Bansheess, it's the drummer out of Budgie, the group.

Seems to be a fair bit of gossip going around the net suggesting Emerson took his own life (gunshot?) because of some neurological issue? No doubt the truth will out...
The Guardian says he took his own life with a shotgun after experiencing problems with his hands, as I recall. Oh dear God, how unutterably sad. Jules

John Thomas from Budgie who died recently played guitar - apologies was bad taste to include Budgie in my original list.

... OK I admit it I was struggling to find a drummer.
Keith Moon should be the only choice. Paul

John Henry Bonham surely! Yes, John Henry Bonham - Shirley, ace drummer for The Hyphenated Poshnobs. Made one album in 1972, flopped, but a prog classic. Oh, you mean the other one, from Led Zep. He's an alright drummer too. Not very posh though.

I agree. We certainly shouldn't be talking about any drummers that are still alive at very least. Jules

A great loss. I love his extended vocals pieces, Eight Songs for a Mad King and Miss Donnithorne's Maggot.

Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest, yesterday.
Best known song probably Can I Kick It, which was that Walk On The Wild Side sample thingy, but lots of other good songs too.
