I met Steve on the Lexington bar in Cardiff circa 1976. He really was strange but charismatic and always with an entourage. A real character RIP Steve x

The New Romantic stuff was never my thing but this is really sad. You kind of expect it with musicians from 60s/70s bands these days but not the 80s. Very sad.

Ditto. '80s music passed me by and I had to think hard about who SS was, thought the name's famliar - -I'm almost embarrassed I haven't heard of Visage. All the same it's sad.

They only really had a couple of hits but Fade To Grey was everywhere at the time. You would know it if you heard it. Steve had a level of fame/imfamy way beyond his musical achievements. He was what they used to call a "face".

He also pranced around in Bowie's wonderfully bonkers video for Ashes To Ashes. Jules

I tended to be 'elsewhere' in the 80s, but when even Radio 4 played 'FtG' I was instantly back in the day - a classic.

I am completely unfamiliar with his own music, but I read from Donnie Munro's FB page that Chris Harley aka Chris Rainbow passed away a few days ago. Though I am unfamiliar with his own music I think every Runrig fan owes him a nod for his production work during their peak days in the 80's and 90's. Died after a long illness
