Sad news Rick Huxley of the Dave Clark Five died aged 72 following a battle with emphysema. Great pop band with only 2 original members remaining. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-21428486

Damnable news - such a shame. Was going through his anthology only last Friday.

Think that was 1970 with Pink Floyd. The Whole World Band included Mike Oldfield, David Bedford, Lol Coxhill & Robert Wyatt & it was indeed something to remember.

LIne up was Ayers headlining, with a set from Nico and also Chapman Whitney Streetwalkers and also possibly a Gong offshoot of some sort? Do recall it was v hot and Ayers was impressive.

Yes, I heard on national news last night. i feel so sad about this. Without wishing to sound melodramatic, every time another death like this happens, I feel as if another fragment of my youth has gone. I've loved his solo albums for so long. I hope he had some good wine on his last day.
