I keep meaning to get that great Flash album. I saw them in the early 70's and they were dreadful. Sad news all the same . RIP

Sad indeed. I really liked that early Yes stuff. I even went out and bought that FLASH LP on the strength of Banks. Unfortunately the LP didn't live up to my expectations. Nevertheless, his passing is still sad news.

Not such a surprise though as he had been ill for many years. The first 2 Maiden albums are by far their best (IMHO!) and Clive was an integral part of that early sound..

Shucks - Clive Burr was a great drummer - am spinning Number of the Beast as I write.
His kit was in the London Hard Rock for a while - after a few ales I was tempted..............................

This had passed me by until now but Hugh McCracken, alumni of both McCartney (Ram) and Lennon (Double Fantasy) amongst many others passed away a few days ago.

Andy Johns. For this of us who think that the name rings a bell but can't quite place it, he produced Led Zeppelin IV, two albums by Humble Pie, three by Free and Television’s Marquee Moon.

Plus JT's "Stand Up" & Blodwyn Pig's "Ahead Rings Out". After all these years I hadn't made the connection with Glyn Johns. Duh.

Derek Watkins' funeral took place today. He died on 22 March from cancer, aged 68. He was an English lead trumpet player best known for playing the instrument on the soundtracks of every James Bond film from Dr. No to Skyfall. He also played in bands with Ted Heath, John Dankworth, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Dizzie Gillespie, Oscar Peterson and Stan Tracey. More details of his career can be found here. The Guardian's obituary can be found here.

Sorry to hear about Sue. I really need to hear more of her music. I've seen her name in dispatches so many times.
