Thankfully we still have Willie, Kris Kristofferson and Billy Joe Shaver (when he's not shooting guys in the face).
Thats a shame. A noted producer and writer of songs as well. |

Today's Daily Telegraph has a very thoughtful obituary on Lou Killen: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/10245684/Louisa-Jo-Killen.htmlI first saw Lou in the '60s at Bristol University Folk Club - he had a fine voice and played a mean concertina. Years later, probably around 1999, I bumped into him in San Francisco at a sailing festival where he was singing sea shanties, including a great version of 'The Shoals of Herring'. He was certainly enjoying the local wine and ale, but managed to remember most of his words. It was very surprising to learn what happened after this! |

Arguably played more oboe than bassoon didn't she, but, what the hell...was bloody good on both instruments. Been very ill for a long long time, so no surprise, but a huge loss. Very sad. |
